Sakura's POV
We got to the house. "Sakura. A word in our room?" Sasuke asked. I nodded and followed him to the bedroom.
"What the heck is going on!? I don't like that you're hiding things from me and not explaining crap to us!" I said. "I'm sorry. I don't want to scare Sarada. I was decoding the scrolls that I had found before that attack happened, leading me into the hospital. They said something kind of......here let me just give them to you." Sasuke said.
He handed me the scrolls, pointing at what one to read first.
Seventh Hokage,
We don't agree of your ways of keeping the village safe. Keeping a legendary ninja out of the village and doing missions like that seems foolish. We would like to have a meeting with you. If you do not come within a month, we will track the Uchiha clan and kill them.Sincerely,
A fellow shinobi of an ally villageI looked at Sasuke. He then looked to the other scroll.
Seventh Hokage,
Following up with the last letter.....It's been a month. You have been seen nowhere near us. It seems that you haven't left your village since. We will be tracking Sasuke, Sakura, and Sarada Uchiha and killing them.
Don't even try getting in the way.
We will not hesitate to kill anyone in our way.
-??
I looked at Sasuke. "What are we going to do!?" I asked. "Calm down. I already have a plan. I will leave three clones here disguised as you and Sarada and obviously myself. We will have them be here and go somewhere safer. Then, when they get ambushed, I'll know and that's when we'll- we're being listened to." He interrupted himself.
He sighed. He had learned sign language with me a while back. He began signing.
Sasuke
SakuraWe will head for Orochimaru's lair. The one where Sarada was born. I already talked to Suigetsu and he said it was fine.
How will we tell Sarada?
We won't. We'll tell her that we're going to visit Suigetsu.
This doesn't seem like a good idea.
I know. I'll protect you and Sarada no matter what.
I sighed with a nod. He gave me a gentle smile as he walked to me and hugged me. "It'll all be ok." His deep voice said into my ear. "Yeah." I said gently.
It's been about four months since I saw the threat to our family. We've stayed in a safe shelter in the back of the village. We told Sarada it was for a family trip so she wouldn't get worried or scared. I was always holding her close whenever Sasuke was out of the shelter, Sasuke holding both of us when he was with us.
Sasuke's POV
I woke up to an unusual feeling.
"Sakura....the clones." I said, waking her up. She woke up and nodded, grabbing Sarada, who was sleeping, and leaving the village.
She followed me, walking by side groggily as she was still waking up. "Dear, how close are we?" She asked. "It's going to be a long and cold trip." I said. And as if on que, snow began to fall. Of course, the attack had to fall in winter. I sighed as I looked to my wife, who obviously wasn't prepared for a trip in this weather and neither was Sarada. I stopped and unbuttoned my black cloak, swinging it over her shoulders, trying to cover both her and Sarada as well as possible.
Two days later......
We walked into the rock lair, escaping the blizzard outside. "Suigetsu." I said, letting his name echo in the halls. "Sasuke, Sakura, Sarada. Welcome back." He said. "Suigetsu!! What the heck are they doing here!?" Karin shouted behind him. "Hey, hey. Calm down. They're here to keep safe, geez." Suigetsu said, covering the ear that Karin shouted in.
Karin walked towards Sakura and looked at Sarada as she bent to her height. "You've gotten so big, Sarada!" She smiled. Sarada shyly grabbed onto Sakura's leg. Sakura looked down and picked her up. "Sorry, Karin. She's still in that shy stage." Sakura said, rubbing the back of her neck. "I understand, Sakura. It's no big deal. Hopefully she'll warm up to me." Karin smiled again.
We found a room to sleep in. Like all of the other rooms, it only had one small bed. "You can have it. I'll sleep on the floor again." I said, remembering this was he same problem from when we came here to deliver Sarada. "I appreciate the offer but I think Sarada needs to sleep on the bed." Sakura said. "I wanna sleep with Papa!!" Sarada smiled. "You wanna sleep on the hard floor, baby girl?" Sakura asked. "Mhm!" She beamed. "Alright. Sakura, you're on the bed. Sarada and I will be fine down here. I didn't pack bedding or anything." I said. "Right. I'll go talk to Suigetsu or Karin. Whoever I find first." She said, leaving the room.
"Papa?" Sarada asked as I laid down to try and get some much needed rest. "Yeah?" I asked, pulling her close. "This is the best vacation." She said. That's right. She thought we were on vacation. "I'm glad you are enjoying it." I smiled, trying to not tell her what was really happening.
The door opened, revealing Sakura. She was holding a few blankets and pillows. I got up and grabbed them from her. "Thank you." She said. "Hey, Sarada, why don't you go play with Aunt Karin." I said. Sarada nodded and walked out, calling Karin's name as she tried to find her.
"We need to talk. You, me, and Suigetsu." I said. Sakura nodded as we began to find Suigetsu.
"Suigetsu. A word with you?" I asked as we finally found him alone in his office. "Sure. Did you hear? Jugo is coming back today." He said, happy that his teammate would be joining us. "Good. Anyway. You know why we're at the lair. We don't know what to do. Should we tell Sarada or....." I said, hoping my old teammate would have a word of advice.
"I say tell her. She needs to know that you all need to be careful and that you are trying to keep her safe." He said after thinking for a few minutes.
"Thank you." I said as we left to go find and tell Sarada.
