Sasuke's POV
"Who are you!?" I asked as I glared into the black mask. "That's a very good question. I'm not sure if I can even answer that." He said, putting a hand to his chin as he pretended to think. "Well if you won't answer me, I'll have to drag you back to the village!" I shouted. I lunged towards him, my sword in front of me.
Naruto.....please hurry up with that back up....
~Flashback~
I sat across from Naruto. "Listen. I'm going to need backup after I leave the village. If you send a member of ANBU to watch over us as we travel, they can call for back up." I said. Naruto sighed. "Sasuke, you know we're short on ANBU right now." He said. "Don't be like that Naruto. This is for the whole village's protection and you know it." I said. He sighed again as he stood up.
"I'll see what I can do. For now, take an ANBU Member with you but you can't tell anyone you stay with." Naruto said, dismissing me. "Thank you." I said before I left.
~End Flashback~
Sakura's POV
I held Sarada in my arms. You could tell that she was both tired and anxious, even though she was asleep. "I'm sorry, Sarada. I wish I could've done better." I said, kissing her forehead as I combed my fingers through her hair. Jugo looked to me as he stood up. "Sakura. We should get going." He said. "Yeah..." I began, standing slowly so I wouldn't wake Sarada up.
I'm sorry, Sarada. This is not the childhood I wanted to give you.
Sasuke's POV
I finally had the man pinned to the ground. I reached for the mask.
"Kakashi?" I asked the silver haired man with a navy mask underneath the original black one. His onyx eyes were wide and bloodshot. Genjutsu. I thought.
"Release!" I said as I released the jutsu he was in. His eyes were relaxed with the rest of his body.
"Sasuke? Where are we?" He asked. "Literally in the middle of nowhere." I said. "Do you remember the last thing you saw before you were put in the jutsu?" I asked. He thought for a minute.
"All I really remember is someone putting a hand over my eyes." He said. "Ok." I said as I sighed in frustration.
"Let's go find the others."
Suigetsu's POV
We hurried to find the others as I was carried by Karin due to weakness. "You're so heavy!!" She complained. "Oh, get over it!! You offered!!!" I said, rolling my eyes. She dropped me suddenly as I fell. "What the heck, Karin!?" I shouted. "Look." She said, staring ahead. I looked.
"Oh gosh." I said as I looked ahead.
Broken trees.
Blood.
Kunai.
Teared clothing.
More blood.
More branches.
"What happened here!?" I asked Karin. "I don't know!! This is where Sasuke was fighting!" She shouted. "Oh crap." I said, standing up and brushing the dirt off of my knees.
Sakura's POV
"Sakura." A deep voice said behind me. I turned, startled.
"What are you doing here!? You scared me!" I said.
"Sorry. I finished fighting that 'thing'. Turns out it was our own sensei being controlled by something." Sasuke said, pointing to Kakashi who was following close behind him.
"I see." I said.
"Is that Sarada?" Kakashi asked, moving forward and pointing to the girl in my arms. "Yes. It's been a while since you've seen her, hasn't it?" I asked. "Yeah, I met her about a month after she was born and this is my second time meeting her." He said. I looked to her as she began to stir. Sasuke took her while we rested.
"Hi, princess. How did you sleep?" I heard Sasuke say. I looked to him. He was talking to Sarada. I smiled softly. And he was worried about being a bad father. I teased in my head.
"Sarada, this is your Uncle Kakashi. He met you soon after you were born." Sasuke said as Kakashi smiled under his mask. Sarada looked confused at the silver haired man. She reached for his mask as he quickly held it on. "Sarada, leave his mask be." Sasuke said. She continued. "Sarada, you need to listen to your Papa." I said. She looked at me, not letting go of the mask. "Sarada!" I said firmly. She let go and glared at me. "Don't give me that look! Apologize to Uncle Kakashi please!" I said as she mumbled an apology.
We continued to who knows where as we hoped to run into Suigetsu and Karin. "So. What exactly is the plan?" Kakashi asked. "That's a good question. Sasuke?" I asked. "Hn. I'm hoping to find the person who got Kakashi like that because I bet that's part of the scroll." Sasuke said. "I see. Any ideas on where we'd look first?" I asked. Sasuke thought for a minute and shook his head.
We wandered around for a bit and eventually found Karin and Suigetsu. I finished dealing with Suigetsu's injuries and we were starting to try and find ideas on what to do next.
"Sasuke. If I bring someone, can we just go back home?" I begged. Sasuke sighed. "Sakura, you know this. I don't want you two to end up hurt. Once the backup from Naruto comes, maybe but even then I'm not sure." He said, walking to me.
"Ok. I'm just worried about Sarada. She might have some problems in the future that come back around to this." I said. "Sakura, just worry about now. We can't be worried or stressed or about this kind of stuff because we need to stay focused on this." He said. "Ok." I said.
I held the sleeping Sarada in my arms. She's been asleep for unusually quite sometime. I quickly realized. I grabbed her wrist, feeling her pulse. Slower than usual. I listened to her chest. Her breath was wheezy and her heartbeat was slow.
"Sasuke. We need to go. Right now." I said, leaving as he followed me at my side. He knew what was happening.
Even if I must die, please be ok, Sarada.
