"Sof." Someone muttered. "Hey Sofia. Are you listening to me?"I closed my eyes and shook my head to snap out of it. I stared at the person who was calling my name. "Yeah, Kenz. Sorry. I was just..."
I was interrupted mid-sentence. "Yeah, I know. Just stop looking at him. Damn. He's like not even."
"Whatever." I responded. I looked down at my tray to see the food that was served today for lunch. I have a bittersweet feeling about the food here at my school.
I sometimes really liked the food that we were given, like hamburgers and french fries, but on other days when they served things like salad and beans, I just starved myself to death. We were served spaghetti and garlic bread so I chose to eat today.
Kenz and I sat at the table that we had always sat at since freshman year. I was really lucky to have her with me. It had always been the two of us since the 1st grade when she moved here. Well, other than Nate, my other best friend.
"Just forget about it." Kenzie added letting out a sigh.
I rolled my eyes at what she said. "I can't just forget what he did. Wouldn't you care if you saw the guy you were dating in someone else's arms, making out and smiling?"
"I mean, you've only been dating for a month. But, if you put it that way..." She said in a defeated tone.
It's been a week since my boyfriend, Alex, left me for Stella, who's probably the most popular girl in our school. That slutty bitch.
I always found myself staring in their direction and sometimes when Stella caught me staring, she would quickly turn around and make out with Alex just to spite me. I really hate her. Hope she dies in a hole.
I felt someone wrap an arm around the back of my neck, taking a seat right next to me and placing a tray on the table. "Sup girls. How's it goin'?"
This was Nate and he's more of like a brother to me really. "Why'd you come so late?" I asked him.
"Oh, nothing."
I noticed his lips were puffy and his hair tousled, so I pretty much knew what just happened. "Who was it?" I asked while trying to fix his hair.
He removed my hand looking a bit shocked. He knew that I knew. "A girl. That's all I'm gonna say." A small grin spreads across his face, making me even more curious.
I retorted. "No shit, Sherlock. What's her name?"
As he was about to respond to my question, Kenz interrupted by yelling and showing us a picture. Nate had an "I don't care" look on his face, and I didn't really care much too.
I was about to ask Nate again, but he and Kenz began talking about calculus or something, which was a subject that I didn't want to dive into. You see, I really despise school and think that it's a waste of time. I hate talking about it more than I actually have to.
Despite all that, I still got straight A's in school with extremely minimal effort. I sometimes copied my assignments from Nate or Kenz and I didn't study for the tests. Either the teachers here were making their classes really easy or I was just naturally smart.
While they were doing their thing, I found myself staring at Stella and my stupid ex-boyfriend again. I don't know why I kept doing this. Maybe it was because I was jealous or maybe because I was angry.
I had to admit that Stella wasn't that bad looking, so any boy would be happy to be with her, but I just found it annoying that he had the audacity to be happy in front of me.
