*Beep. Beep. Beep*

I groaned as I heard my timer ringing continuously as I tried to drown it out by covering my ears with the pillow. I let it go on for five more minutes before I finally clicked the snooze button to stop the ringing. I peacefully laid in bed for eight minutes before it began to ring again.

I groaned once more at the painful sound and finally shut it off. I looked at what time it was on the phone and it showed 6:45. I then threw my phone somewhere on the floor not caring whether it broke or not. It was an old phone anyways.

Listlessly getting out bed, I stood standing in one spot while scanning the entire room with my eyes half open. I opened and closed my mouth a few times stretching my sore jaw. After staying there a while, I finally felt my legs moving slowly towards the bathroom.

I positioned myself right in front of the mirror and looked up to see a horrifying creature. Disheveled hair, tired eyes, drool dried up near her mouth.

I ignored all of this and stepped into the shower after taking off my clothes. After a good ten minutes with the warm water, I turned it off and I dried myself off with a towel, then wrapped the towel around my body.

I grabbed the blow dryer and dried my hair for a few minutes and changed into the set of clothes I decided to wear today: a gray shirt and black leggings. I grabbed my toothbrush and begin brushing my teeth.

After twenty seconds, I pretty much finished and put my toothbrush back where it belonged. I looked at myself in the mirror again and noticed an ok looking person, so I headed downstairs to get something to eat.

Nearing the foot of the stairs, a pleasant aroma brushed past my nose and I could tell that my mom was cooking bacon and eggs. I was really happy because she rarely cooked due to work. I normally ate cereal or an apple for breakfast.

I ran straight to the kitchen to grab a plate. My mom noticed that I had finally came downstairs. "Good morning."

I looked at my mother and couldn't help but admire how beautiful she was. She was so beautiful with her hazelnut eyes and silky chestnut hair. She was wearing her usual outfit too: a black blazer on top of a white button-up with jeans. She's a secretary for this one electronics company. "Good morning, mom. How are you?"

"A bit tired but I'm good." I could tell how sleepy she was based on her tone of voice. I came up behind her as she was cooking the eggs and I gave her a small rub on the shoulders.

"I think you're stressed. Are you stressed? Here give me the spatula." I extended my arm offering to cook the rest but she shooed me away with her free hand signaling me to set the plates and utensils.

"I can cook for you at the very least. Anyways, how's school and the boyfriend?" I was surprised that she remembered that I had a boyfriend. She put the eggs on a plate and after grabbing the other plate with bacon on it, she set them both on the table and sat down.

"School's boring as always and also I don't have a boyfriend." The thing that I loved about my mom was that I could always tell her the truth and she wouldn't ask why and keep pestering me about it. She was a pretty chill parent if you asked me.

"Anymore, you mean. What did you do that made him break up with you?" She said that in a joking tone and I was a little bit offended to be honest.

"Mom, you're supposed to be on my side." I crossed my arms and looked as if I was about to throw a tantrum on the couch.

"Okay, okay. Your boyfriend..." I looked at her, opening my eyes a little more to correct her. "Ex, I mean, is dumb and doesn't deserve you. Happy?" I smiled at her statement. We then started talking about her work and the things happening there as we were eating our breakfast.
