He was deep in his thought when something near him went "bang", Charles jumped from the seat, his heart hammering like mad. He could hear his own heart. The sound deafening his ears.
"Got ya cousin, didn't know you were scared of balloons", he kept laughing like crazy, "Really you should have seen your face".
"Very mature James", Charles said in an angry tone and started to walk towards his parents.
"Hey, where are you going it was just a joke, come on Charles its my birthday, your so tight all the time. You should relax and take a break, hey are you even listening to me....", he kept on talking and I kept on walking without looking back.
I needed to leave and get my head straight I cant think in all this noise and distractions. Coming up to his parents he gently called to his mother.
"Mom I have to go somewhere", he was trying to keep his cool but it was getting difficult by the minute.
His mother observed him closely trying to figure out why he was acting this way. He was never the type to misbehave or get into trouble. What ever it was, it must be important for him and the morning event was still lingering in her mind. Controlling herself from not asking all the things she wanted to know.
His friends death had done great damage to his son life but she didnt want to make him runaway from her or close up this gap. She wanted him to be open with her.
She smiled and softly said "Alright but on one condition, promise me you will be home by 10:00".
"Ok I promise. Thanx mom, your the best", he said giving her a big crushing hug. Everyone else gave strange looks to them but it didnt matter to him. His mother was just simply awesome, she gave him a warm smile and gently patted his shoulder.
He left the party in quick strides, he was glad he left the party. He was never the type to enjoy these family events. Once out of the house he ran at full speed. Good thing Max's house was close, he would be there in n8 time.
Just a few blocks more and he would get the answers he need. He was slowing down when he saw a car coming in his direction but someone pushed him forward with a hard shove in the back, making him stumble and fall in front of the car.
