Chapter 9

I was on guard because the last two times he had taken me by surprise.  This time I Don't want to take any chances.

" I have to go now by next time I hope we will be friends. He said with a small smile before taking off towards his home. I kept looking till he dissappeared into the darkness.

I slowly started walking towards my home its been a rough day. The rain was very welcoming it felt like soft caress. My mind was lost in past memories. This moment this place all three of us running to reach my home after a long day spent in a school or other activity with heavy rain singing one of our favourite songs.

Right now I can only think of this song.

"Aarhhh, why am I so stupid sometimes", I was so lost in my thoughts that I completely forgot the reason for this whole meeting. I was suppose to ask him about the message on my cell phone.

Well there is nothing I can do now and considering his earlier actions it doesn't feel like he is involved in this. I am going straight to bed will do the thinking for tomorrow.

That's When I saw our neighbours dog dalmatian. He was standing outside our entrance gate. I wonder whats wrong with him, he is very friendly and usually never leaves the house.

As I neared I felt something wrong about him. The way it was starring at me was giving me goosebumps, I had stopped a few feet away from him. I could practically feel the anger and menacing rage coming from the animal. This doesn't look good for me. If I run he will chase me I need to be in control of the situation.

He barked a few times and each one was louder than the last. " Calm down boy what's wrong ", I said with confidence. No need for jumping to conclusions here it could be something else.

He had started growling in low voice. Something is definitely bothering him, I didn't want to break eye contact with him but fear had already taken roots in my heart. I could feel myself losing control of the situation.

With few more barks he started moving forward I didnt need to think twice I knew I was in trouble no need to reason with an animalneho is trying to attack you.

I took the hint and slowly starting back stepping. I needed to think of escaping and quick my foot is injured it won't help me run for long. Then I saw my escaping chance Jack. He was walking towards his home and if my guess is correct he will be inside next seven minutes.

Now how to dodge the dog and make a run for it. the dig didnt gave me time to think in wasting because he had already leapt forward I ofcourse didn't reason with it this time and ran at full speed in reverse. There is no way I will survive this time, a car was turning into the garage, I used the car to buy sometime by jumping and sliding off the bonet, the dog being large easily made the jump but slipped.

Hah you should practice more before copying me. It gave me some precious seconds to cover more ground. Good thing I was in the track and field otherwise I wouldn't have been able to run with this foot.

My prediction went a little wrong I thought Jack was going home but he seemed to be coming my way.

" Jack, Run quickly ",  I shouted.

" Why ", he asked confused by my actions.

"Just run don't ask I will explain later and open the house", I said all in one breath.

At first he thought I was crazy but then he saw why. He stood their stunned and staring when I grabbed him by the arm while still running, we both ran towards his home " Charles can't you stay out of trouble ", he said while running.

The dog was gaining on us I gave another look behind that didnt look like a dog at all, a wolf. What the hell is that.

" I try but it seems to find me ", I joked.

Jack jumped the gate with ease and I followed behind. He took out the keys but it took him time which was enough for the beast to find us. I took the shovel from the garden and swung it in front of him in warning.

The beast growled loudly ready to attack by then Jack had unlocked the door and quickly pulled me in by grabbing my shirt from behind and at once shut the door.

The beast hit the door with a force that shook the hinges. We both looked at each other and quickly picked up the sofa from the lounge and placed it in front of the door. We could hear growling and scratching sounds from the other side.

My heart beating like mad inside I could hear my own heart beating "Quickly shut the windows ", Jack ordered me.

He was already moving in the right direction so I took the opposite. I closed and locked everyone which was open.

The dog like wolf howled a few times before it went quite. I was back in the lounge when. . .
