Jedi Consequence - Chapter III

Not long after the battle of Taris, the Republic forces, lead by Anakin and Plo, managed to retake the capital and hence restore Republic influence for the planet. Anakin's efforts secured the war movement on Taris, and so he was chosen to debrief the Jedi Council on the matter; in which he returned to Coruscant in order to do so...

The Jedi Temple; magnificent architecture that has catered for generation after generation of Jedi - it was the heart of the Jedi Order and could be argued the only reason the Jedi have stayed in existence for so long.

"Okay, R2; We're home." Anakin murmured through his starfigher's Comlink, to which he received an on-screen response followed by wails and beeps from his fellow astromech droid. Anakin made his way towards the senate building, and landed his starfighter at dock E11. He opened his canopy and climbed out, his feet gracing the floor as he jumped from his starfighter's wing.

"R2, stay with the ship, I won't be long".

R2 responded with multiple beeps and hails with a few rotation of his dome-shaped head.

"No R2, I have specific instructions to debrief to the Chancellor first, I'm already late, goodbye."

R2 's response was a faded electrical muffle within the distance, and Anakin wasn't overly interested in the Astromech's most likely, sarcastic response. Anakin climbed the steps of the Galactic Senate, admiring the decoration and architecture of such a fine building, he rarely ever finds himself on Coruscant (with the Jedi stretched thin in the Clone Wars) and so it was a pleasure to admire the very fine details. In a way, he kind of missed it, being on Coruscant, despite it being a vile place sometimes, he enjoyed its simplicity. As he reached the door, he bumped into a slightly larger-than-normal Dugg, who after recovering from the push, spouted and ranted in his native tongue.

"I'm sorry, I was rushing, forgive my lack of focus" Anakin pleaded, not wanting to cause any trouble, but it seemed to be to no avail; the Dugg paid no attention to Anakin's plea and instead just ignored him and sneered slightly, as he walked away. Anakin never really liked Dugg's, especially because they were a very violent and abrupt people, that, and they reminded him of his Podracing nemesis, Sebulba. Now that the slight interuption was dealt with, Anakin proceeded to his destination, dragging his black cloak along the floor and constantly observing everybody he passed. He finally reached the Elevator to the Chancellor's office, when he heard a soft, small, but potent voice call his name (or at least half of it)

"Ani - I mean Master Jedi, may I have a word?"

"Of course, Senator Amidala" Anakin said, with a smirk and a humourous tone.

"I was just on my way to see the Chancellor to debrief him on the Taris operation, if you would like, seems as you're heading this way anyway, to accompany me? I could always use a good politician to debate the democratical side of it all" Anakin mused, sarcastically

"I shall do that; I always like to show a Jedi how to negotiate" Padme retorted, grinning herself.

Anakin smiled at her, and held his hand out to indicate a 'ladies-first' rule, to which Padme gleefully responded. Anakin then followed straight after, and pressed the button on the interior of the elevator which would take them to the Chancellor's office, which reacted by automatically closing the doors and emitting a light from the pressed button.

"Oh Padme I've missed you, not a moment has gone by where I wasn't thinking of you, your beauty, your smile; it's one of the only things that kept me fighting." Anakin followed by holding her hands and slowly kissing her left cheek. Padme flushed; she didn't know how to respond and was overwhelmed by the sudden change in character, Anakin could sense it, and so he faced her again, his hands touching her shoulders. The setting of Coruscant played well, the elevator's open canopy revealing a metropolis landscape, with a picturesque sky cover, which omitted orange fluctuations from the setting sun.
