Adira met Zabdiel in middle school, the two already knowing that they enjoyed learning of the law and whatnot. Though she knew she liked it at that time, becoming a lawyer didn't seem all that alluring to her. Zabdiel knew he wanted to become one, maybe even more than that. She wanted to spend more time with him even if most of the time he was cooped up in his room studying. There wasn't a day where Zabdiel wouldn't mention something he had learned and slowly but surely, it captivated Adira. She loved hearing about it and soon enough she decided she wanted to become a lawyer.

What also grew, and as cliche as it sounds, was love. She didn't want to see it nor admit it but it was screaming at her face. She loved Zabdiel. As much as she tried and as much as she wanted, she couldn't stay  away from him. So it came with no surprise that she would apply at his firm to see him everyday. And a bonus? She could check on her best friend's husband.

"Buenos dias, Zabdiel," Adira formally greeted once she was permitted to enter the man's office.

"Hey mami," he flirtatiously smiled, getting up from his chair. "I have something for you."

"What is it?" She beamed, feeling her heart somersault at his words with anticipation.

He sauntered past her and to his long side cabinets and from it retrieved a beautiful bouquet of tulips. Her favorites.

"Oh my gosh! They're beautiful!" She gushed, taking them delicately into her hands. "Thank you so much."

She pressed a chaste kiss on his cheek (which turned red) before inhaling the sweet scent of her favorite flowers. It was then when she pulled it closer that she felt something poke her.

"A notecard?" She asked with a confused smile.

"Yes but please read it when you get to your office." He said bashfully and it only made her desire toward him inflate even more.

"Ok," she said in a sultry tone. "Hey, can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

"Luke..." she began hesitantly. "Do you see him when he leaves?"

"Oh yeah," the blonde nodded as he recalled the moments the two would bump into each other everyday at the exit. "We leave around the same time."

"Don't you get out at six or seven?"

"I do, yes."

"So you're telling me that Luke goes home at around that time?"

"Yes." He stiffly repeated. "Why?"

"So by now you've realize that Linda and I don't like him, correct?"

"Anyone can see that from a mile away," Zabdiel snickered.

"We're having our doubts about that boy so while I can I'm going to investigate him. Algo no me late bien."

"As long as it doesn't distract you from your work you can investigate him all you want."

"Of course, jefe pero dime algo... does he know that I've started working here?"

"No. I haven't told him yet. Should I?"

"No!" She exclaimed. "It's best if he doesn't because once that douche finds out I'm working here, and if he's cheating, he'll be more careful about everything."

"Bueno," Zabdiel sighed. "Anything else?"

"No," Adira sheepishly replied before inching closer to her now boss. "Again, thank you for these. I adore them."

She slowly placed a kiss right at the corner of lips as a way of teasing but also because she wanted to thank him with a kiss but couldn't. She took steps back with a small smirk and with that she was on a mission.

"Hello," she addressed the lady at the counter in front of Zabdiel's office. "Do you happen to know where Luke Williams is?"

The lady courteously smiled and affirmed. "Go all the way to the end of this hall and the first door to your left is his room."

"Thank you so much. Have a nice day." She quickly muttered because she sprinted to the room.

The first thing she saw was an empty secretaries desk with folders scattered on top. The blinds to the office were shut and it only alarmed Adira more. How could she find out what was going on without Luke seeing her? The only solution she had was to knock and run away. Like ding dong ditch, essentially.

A tall brunette poked her head out with a messy buttoned up shirt and smeared lipstick. Upon seeing no one, she pulled her head back in and shut the door. With lock.

Bingo.
