I held back a laugh, holding my lips tightly together. I managed to hold back my laughter but I did let out a soft snort.

The kind looking old butler, well I had assumed he was a butler by the way he dressed, smiled and gestured for us to follow him inside. "Uh yes hello." My father nodded in greeting, taking my hand before we headed inside.

As we walked inside the rather gloomy mansion I looked down at my father and I hands. I tilted my head slightly wondering why he held my hand, and so tightly at that.

"Dad what's wrong?" I looked up to see his jaw set and the space between his eyebrows creased. "I never did like your grandpa Dickson." I nodded slowly before looking back to the butler who walked in front of us.

"He has so much money that he needs house staff?" My father scoffed shrugging his shoulders. "Apparently." Our conversation stopped once we reached some sort of large living room.

It was dark like the rest of the house but had a lovely fireplace that crackled softly. The flames were a very beautiful orange that matched the setting sun outside. The outside, which was filled with thick dark green trees, were visible from the large windows in the said room.

"Mr Dickson will be with you shortly." The butler bowed resulting in making me raise a brow.
That surprised me, I had never seen someone bow to another.
The butler left and my father huffed, plopping down onto a near-by couch.

I sat next to him and listened to his silent grumbling, staring dreamily at the fire. "He said it was urgent yet he makes us wait...hah that man." My father sighed, bringing his hand up to his temple and massaging it gently.

"What do you think it is?" Just like I noticed in the car, his shoulders tensed up and his eyes glazed down to the ground. "I have no idea." I must have gotten my ability to not be able to lie from him.
He was horrible at lying.

I sighed and let it go, it must have been something he couldn't tell me. I sat back letting myself sink into the couch. It was amazingly soft and I could have fallen asleep any time.

After a few long minutes of waiting in silence, footsteps were heard making me sit up in a daze. I was tired and the soft couch I sat on didn't help. "Thank you for coming right away." The voice was deep and a bit hoarse.

I looked to my grandfather and was surprised to find a tall, young looking male. Despite being over the age of sixty he looked well into his late forties.
I blinked multiple times before noticing my grandfathers blue eyes looking into my hazel orbs.

My father stood up interrupting my daze so I followed suit. We walked over to my grandfather and stood in front of him. "Glad to see your doing well Dad." My father didn't like my grandfather since Grandpa Dickson didn't let my mother date my father at first.

The only reason why he let my father marry my mother was because she was pregnant with me.
"You aren't looking that well Harris." My grandfather sighed before turning to me. "And you must be Lee. You look just like your mother." He smiled lovingly before his eyes turned cold again.
"Lee, Barry here will accompany you while you explore the mansion." It was more of an order than a question.

"Um alright." I nodded looking back to my tensed up father before leaving with the butler.
