9 : promises

mila's pov

i wake up at 9am from the sun shining through the window. ruel is still fast asleep so i carefully release myself from his arms and walk into the bathroom. i wash my face and go back to the bed. i see ruels phone on the bedside table getting so many notifications. i picked it up to put it on night mode but one persons texts stood out to me. some girl called eva, i read the texts she was sending him.

eva - morning babe

eva - when am i gonna get to see you

eva - i miss you

who is this girl? i put the phone back down and sit on the bed facing away from ruel. i hear him moving around and stretch. 

"morning" he puts his arms around me and i tense up as he does this

"what's wrong?" he asks and tries to turns his head to look at me

"who's eva?" i ask turning my head

"oh shit" he starts

"so you do have something with someone" i get up and look at him holding his head in frustration "i literally said i have one rule, and you promised"

"it's not what it looks like" i says getting up

"oh please, i've heard that before" i say trying to get my clothes

"just please sit down and i will explain"

i give in and sit on the bed and gesture for him to go on.

"last year we made out at a party but i regretted it and told her to not tell anybody but when i went back home she went around and told everyone we were dating" he tries to hold my hand but i move mine away

"she tries texting me every time i'm in melbourne but i want nothing to do with her, trust me" he puts his hand on my face making me look at him

"you promise it's nothing?" i ask

"yes i promise" he holds out his pinky and i giggle slightly

"come on" he laughs insisting he pinky promises

i link my pinky around his and he kisses me on the forehead. i wrap my arms around him and he does the same.

"i love you" he whispers in my ear

oh my god.

"i love you too" i whisper back and bury my head in his chest as we lay on the bed.

i hear a knock at the door and quickly hide under the bed. i'm supposed to be in my room, oops. ruel goes and opens the door and it's coco.

"hey ruel, did mila sleep here last night?" she says walking inside

"uh no why" he says trying not to look her in the eye

"oh my god, you're such a bad liar! where is she?" coco laughs

i get out from under the bed and coco stares at me. i forgot i was in his shirt.

"i hope there was no funny business in here last night but incase there was just don't say anything. i don't want to know" she says holding her ears

we both laugh and coco and i leave the room to go to our room.

"i hope i get that shirt back" ruel yells before i close the door

"so, how was last night?" coco asks as we are walking to our room

"it was great, i met tyler, the creator and i watched ruel perform. you know he had never let me listen to his music. last night was the first time"
