it's been a month since we broke up. ruels career has been blowing up. i'm so proud of him but it's so weird to not be there with him. i got a notification saying ruel is live on instagram. i sigh and get in the shower. after i'm out of the shower i see he's still live so i click on it to hear his voice.
he's singing. oh my lord this was a mistake. he's singing my favourite song. pluto projector by rex orange country. after he's done he decides to read out some of the comments.

he started to read that one out loud but then stopped and continued to read the other comments. maybe he just wanted to forget about me. forget i exist. i turned off my phone and decided to watch a movie. after the movie finished i get a text from sunday.
sunday: hi do u want to come over?
mila: sure i'll come in like ten minutes
i throw on a hoodie and go to sundays. i knock on the door and she opens it.
"hi!!!" she squealed
"hi" i say giving her a hug
we hangout for a while, make tiktoks and listen to music.
"so...when was the last time you talked to ruel?" she asks
"ummm we haven't talked since we broke up. we said we were gonna stay friends but i don't think it's gonna work" i sigh
"well i know he really misses you"
"how do you know that?" i ask
"he told me stupid" she laughs
"i really want to see him but i don't think he wants to see me right now" i say
"come on" she says grabbing my wrist and dragging me outside
"sunday where are we going?" i laugh
"the beach"
"why?"
"no reason" she smirks
"i swear if ruel's there i'm gonna kill you"
she laughs and we continue to walk to the beach. once we get there i see him, with everyone. mary isn't there but simon, bodhi, anneliese and samson are there. sunday runs over to them with me behind her.
"hi guys!" she says as she sits down
"hi" i say quietly
ruel turns his head sharply and opens his mouth to say something but he then stays quiet. i sit down by sunday and join in on the conversation.
"let's get some food" anneliese says getting up
we then walk to a cafe nearby.
"i'm gonna go to the bathroom" i say getting up from my seat
after i walk out of the bathroom ruel is standing there. the second our eyes meet his cheeks go red.
"hi" he says
"hi"
"i've missed you"
"i miss you" i say
"can we go on a walk?" he asks
"yeah sure"
we leave the cafe and walk along the beach.
"this month has been so hard" he says
i stay quiet.
"i saw your live today"
"oh um yeah, i sang your song" he blushes
"i really liked it"
why is this so awkward. like we decided to stay friends but maybe we can't just be friends.
"why is this so hard?" he asks "i just want to be with you"
oh. my. god. YES.
"i want to be with you too"
"then let's get back together, we were so good together" he says grabbing my hands
"let's just start hanging out more and we will see what happens okay" i say
"yeah, okay" he sighs
"i still love you" i say
"i love you" he says kissing my cheek
oh god. this boy makes me feel some type of way. we continue talking and it finally feels somewhat normal again. it's not awkward anymore.
everyone eventually joined us on the beach and we hung out and had fun for a few hours.
"i should probably go home"i say standing up dusting the sand off my pants
"i'll drop you home" ruel says getting up too
i nod and smile and we say our goodbyes to everyone. i hop in the passenger seat and we continue talk the whole car ride. he places his hand on my thigh causing me to flinch and he takes it off straight away.
"i'm sorry" he says
"no no it's okay don't apologise, it just caught be off guard"
he smiles and we continue our conversation. as we pull up to my house he looks at me.
"i really enjoyed seeing you today, you don't understand how much i missed you" he smiles
"i missed you too, i'll see you soon yeah?" i ask
"of course"
"bye ruel" i say
"wait" he says running out the car and opening my door
"oh my god what a gentleman" i gush jokingly
"shut up" he blushes
"bye mila" he says at my door kissing me on my forehead
"bye ruel" i say going in my house
oh how i've missed him. it's so weird, even though it was slightly awkward it was so comforting to be with him today. he makes me feel so safe and happy.
i decide to post on instagram.
