As Years Pass (An Edd x Marie story)

Redemption

The morning came. Double D opened his eyes, for some reason he felt heavy. Looking down at his chest, he saw a tuft of blue hair peeking out from beneath the blanket. He pulled the blanket down to see Marie sleeping soundly against his chest. Edd smiled and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. He took his other hand and brushed the hair from her face. With this Marie opened her eyes slowly glancing up to see Double D smiling at her. Marie yawned and adjusted herself, placing her palms on Edd's chest. She pulled herself up to his face and with a kiss said, "Good morning dream boat."

"Good morning beautiful."

Marie burried her face in Edd's neck. It was to early to already be blushing. "Do you have to go to work soon?"

Double D looked at the clock, "No I have about 2 hours before I have to go."

Marie looked up at Double D becoming excited. She tapped his nose with her finger, "Well then how about you make a girl some breakfast and I'll go start some coffee?" Marie pulled off the covers and jumped out of bed. Wearing only a pair of black lace panties and her black tank top. Edd looked her up and down, and quickly pulled his hat down over his eyes. Marie saw this and smiled. She climbed on top of him and sexily whispered in his ear, "It's ok Edd, you've already seen more than that." She giggled a little and skipped off to the kitchen. Edd pulled his hat back up, and tried to regain his composure.

In the kitchen Marie was making coffee and looking in the refrigerator to see what was available. When suddenly it got dark and she felt something pulling down over her. Her head popped out of a bright orange shirt and she saw Edd looking into her eyes, "This may cover just a bit more Marie." Marie looked at Edd and noticed he was no longer wearing a shirt, instead he had put it on her, it fit like a baggy mini dress, but she was happy to have something of his around her.

"Thanks oven mitt." She popped her arms through and began to tug the shirt tight against her body, she turned around and pulled the shirt up tight aginst her lower back showing off the curves of her hips and butt, "What do you think Double D is this more modest?"

"Marie! The idea was so that I wouldn't feel so teased!"

Marie let the shirt go and hang baggy on her shoulders, "You know that's not my idea of fun." She kissed Edd on the cheek and went back to looking in the fridge. Double D walked up and wrapped his arms around her from behind, kissing her neck. "I do believe I was going to make a girl some breakfast. Please sit down and relax I'll take care of everything."

Marie placed her hands on Edds and nuzzled her back up against him. "Ok."

She sat down at the table and Edd went straight to work he pulled some various things out of the fridge and began furiously chopping and arranging things. He placed a skillet on the stove and allowed it to heat while he cracked eggs into a bowl and whipped them. He poured the eggs into the pan and added his ingredients. In a matter of minutes he returned to Marie at the table plates in hand, and produced 2 of the most beautiful omelettes she had ever seen."I hope this is ok, Ed and May didnt quite have all the ingredients for a Denver Omelette."

"Edd this looks amazing." She took a bite, and it melted in her mouth, "It's delicious!"

Edd smiled proudly, "Why thank you. I've had a lot of practice cooking. Mother and Father were away a lot and I did most of the cooking when I was with Sarah, so I suppose I became an fairly adept chef."

Marie smiled at Edd, she had longed for a moment like this, learning the little things about Double D that only a select few knew about. The two were eating when the doorbell rang. Edd looked at the clock again, "That must be Eddy, but it seems he is a bit early. Please continue eating I'll answer the door. Excuse me." Edd left the table and opened the front door to find Sarah in front of him. "Hi Edd." She said quietly.

"Sarah? It is very early in the morning what are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to talk to you before you left for work."

Marie walked up and opened the door wider. She stood glaring at Sarah. "Oh, I didnt realize Marie stayed with you last night. That's good because I wanted to talk to her too."

"Like hell, why would I talk to you?"

Sarah started crying, "Because I want to apologize. For everything. Not just to Edd but to you, for hurting you in school and the trouble I caused the last couple days."

Edd was shocked he had never seen Sarah genuinely be sorry. "Sarah what is this about?"

"I want you both to be happy Edd, and I want to be Happy. Jimmy and me are going to move into his dad's old house across town, I'll go to the court house and start filing for divorce today. I just want all this to be over. I'm sorry Edd I never actually loved you, I just wanted someone to take care of me. But I didn't realize that Jimmy was more than capable of doing that this whole time. All I have done is hurt you, and the best thing I know to do to make up for it is to be out of your life. Here's the keys to the car, you bought it after all, you should have it."

Sarah dropped the keys on the steps, and turned to run away across the street, "Hey, Stop!" Marie ran up to Sarah and blocked her way. Marie looked down into Sarah's eyes. She put her hand on top of her bright red hair and gave her a small hug. "Thank you Sarah, I can't say I forgive you yet. But I'll try." Marie let Sarah go and went back to Ed's house.

Edd was still standing frozen in the door way, he couldn't believe what just happened. As bright as his mind was it came to a grinding halt, it simply could not process the situation. Marie waved her hand in front of his face, "Helloooo, Earth to Double D."

Edd stammered over his words, "W-Was she just nice? D-Did you just hug her?"

Neither of the two had noticed Ed walk into the room and stand right behind them, "Ed is Sarah's big brother."

Edd and marie both jumped, "Good heaven's Ed, you startled me."

"Ed told Sarah to be happy. Now she will." Edd hugged double D and Marie both, then he notice he could see Marie's legs and Edd's torso, "AHHH MARIE AND DOUBLE D ARE NAKED!! ED DIDN'T MEAN TO!" He ran away and slammed the bedroom door, May came rushing out to see the 2 standing there in pajamas. She placed her hand on her face and said, "Don't worry I'll explain it."

"Well I need to get dressed for work I suppose." Edd said to Marie still very confused about the morning's events.

"Yea you do." Edd turned and walked down the hall, "So, can I watch?" Marie began following behind him.

"Good heavens Marie, how obscene."

"Oh come on I can take your pants off for you."

"Marie, you are simply too much." The two went in the guestroom together, and May smiled at the two, "I'm so happy for you both." She turned and yelled up the stairs, "Ed it's ok, they weren't naked you're not in trouble."

After the excitement, the morning continued as usual. Edd went to work with Eddy, Ed walked to his job at the construction sight, and life in the Cul DeSac seemed to be peaceful once more.
