We walked for hours and hours. We kept low and had the youngest girls in the middle. The last thing we needed was for them to get lost and end up causing us all trouble. I huffed as my feet were starting to ache and my backpack felt like a million pounds resting on my shoulders. I hate Summer.
Alexis (the second oldest of our group) was helping me keep track of the younger and freaked out fire elementals. My guard was up. Fire like that didn't go out without having help from someone with powers like our and if they put out that big of a fire, they were STRONG.
We've been on this trail through the tree line for about an hour before we all hear it. A loud gunshot. One of the air girls suddenly moves out of the way at the edge of the group as we all see a bullet fly past her. I hear a few screams before my ears start to ring and i feel a sting on the side of my arm. I look down and hiss in pain. On the outside of my upper arm there is a decent sized cut and it's bleeding pretty bad. I feel someone grab my arm and drag me towards the others who are running. I look up and see someone in all black with a gun in their arms.

I start to run after I see this. I run fast. Pretty soon I'm pulling along the girl that was pulling on me. The trees start to blur past me and I run past the rest of the girls so see another person with a gun. I gasp and turn, all of the girls follow me. I look over to see the oldest water elemental and the oldest in our group running next to me.

Water elementals are usually really nice and sweet, but right now she looks like she could kill someone. We are both  running really fast, and she suddenly looks shocked and stops. I follow her line of sight and see them. Four people with their guns raised at us. I start to turn and see that they are on that side. I turn the other way and their that way as well as behind. I'm starting to panic. We can't protect all of these girls from twenty plus people with guns.

I stand still as I breath hard and watch the people with guns as someone steps forward form their circle Stella (Oldest of our group) and I move protectively in front of the other girls. The other girls that are about as old as me and Stella step to the outsides of the group and put the younger ones behind them. The people that have the guns are watching us very hard, but I can feel one in particularly staring at just me. I look up and am greeted with the brightest green eyes I've ever seen. They don't break eye contact and neither do I.

Stella pokes me in the side as one approaches us. I stand in a defensive manor, ready to fight with this person if it comes down to it and Stella does the same.

"What are so many girls like you running around in the forest together with packs on their backs?" the man that is in front of Stella and I ask.
"None of your business. If you would excuse us, we'll be on our way," Stella replies all while not flinching or moving at all.
"I thought water elements were nice," they says and grins when he sees Stella flinch a little. Well, there goes the element of surprise I thought we had. I crouch down and get ready to attack. The thing the person does next makes everyone around us go still.

"I guess we all have something in common," they say as they hold the flame in their hand.
