I hear whispering. I listen to them while trying to pull myself out of my deep sleep. I realize that the whispers are saying my name. I go into survival mode and make sure the person or people can't tell that I'm awake. I feel a hand on my should and act without thinking. I flip the person under me and aim my fist at their face, while I quickly scan the room for other people. No one else is in here. Did this person really come in here to attack me by themselves? How foolish. I sneer and look down at the person I have under my full weight. I look down and see the boy from earlier. What did he say his name was again? Oh yeah, Nick. Wait a minute, why is he in my room at this hour?
"You have any idea how late it is? Why are you in my room?" I whisper yell at him. Not my fault he interrupted my sleep.
"Nice to see you too, Em," he says trying to lighten the mood. I glare at him and press more weight down on him.
"Answer my question, Diptard," I hiss at him while he smirks.
"Ya know, if all you wanted was to straddle me, then all you had to do was ask," he says and winks. I roll my eyes. It's not like he's unattractive, I just don't like boys that look like a stiff wind could knock them off their feet. I cock an eyebrow at him, showing my impatience with his little game. He huffs and pouts.
"You really take the whole fin out of every situation," he says in a childish voice.
"You keep getting on my nerves, I show you how I killed 5 people at once with a flick of my hand," I growl and bare my teeth. I'm getting really tired of this cat-and-mouse game he is playing with me. I see him visibly gulp and sweat collect on his forehead.
"I'd rather not, but thanks for the offer, sweet cheeks," he smiles and I punch him hard enough to break his nose. Nick curses a bunch and grinds his teeth. I bend really close to his ear. "Now, answer my questions or else I'll realign it with my GOOD punch," I glower to him and I hear him whimper a little, but he nods.
"I came over to see your brother, he is in one of the larger groups of teens around here that do what we do. One of our contributes hasn't paid up. I was walking past your room, and just had to say 'hi', ya know like a normal person does. I think it's like 4 am or something. Funny how time flies. Did you know you look really pretty right now? Ya know, minus the fact that you look like you're going to kill me," he says in seemingly one breath. Gosh, this kid has no filter.
"What kind of things? What do you mean by contributors?" I ask as I let a little weight off of him. He looked like he was struggling to breath. I need him alive, for now.
"I can't tell you that," he says quietly and looks like he is going to cry. He has good reason to cry. I punch him with my good arm and break his nose back into place. I curses louder and a few tears go down his face.
"I told you if you didn't answer my questions, I would do that," I won't admit it, but I miss getting to do this all the time. Nick is my own personal punching bag, and I like it right now. The interrogation has my adrenaline pumping. I've literally been trained almost all of my life to do this. It feels good to know I didn't waste my time.
"Holly F*ck that hurts A LOT more when you do it the second time," he hisses between his teeth that are clamped shut, hard.
