His blue orbs stared into me as I panted against the wall.
He took slow menacing steps toward me, stopping just a foot from me.
"W-What do you want?" I whimpered, and he chuckled in response.
I kept my gaze on him as he walked around the room, stopping here and there, never taking his eyes off of me.
"Are you afraid of me?" His voice came out in a whisper and my eyes widened in confusion.Afraid? No.
Intrigued? Most definitely.
"I'm not scared, just curious." I replied.
His head snapped up at my answer, "Curiosity killed the cat, my dear Audrey."
I pulled my eyebrows together at his words, "I'm no cat."
He chuckled and came to stand in front of me, tipping my chin up with his finger.
"Seems you aren't," He rasped against my ear," but that won't stop me from killing you."My eyes snapped open, but I couldn't move my body. I tried stretching, and only then was I able to sit up. I wasn't as startled with the dream as I thought, instead it only made me want to know about that man.
Who was he? What was his name? Would I ever see him again? I yawned and shook the thoughts from my mind. I'd probably never see him again, so digging into these questions would be redundant.
I looked over to my phone to see it was 7:50, I still had an hour before I needed to be to work. Slowly I rolled from the bed, only to have my phone ring from the opposite side, which led me to flop down again to reach it.
"Hey!" Stacey chirped as I answered.
"Do you know what time it is?" I groaned and rolled my eyes. I'd have to deal with her for six hours later and she couldn't let me have a quiet morning?
"Yes, but that doesn't matter. You remember that guy from the business party yesterday?"
"Mhmmmm and?" I sighed.
"Well, you'll never believe it but he asked me on a date!" My brows furrowed in confusion. A date?
"Good for you, I guess." I chuckled, "Lord knows you haven't been on a date date in months."
"Hey! We don't mention drought season remember? But also, Alex told me that Kason wanted to get to know you better and so it's a double date!"
What.
"Kason?" I questioned.
"Yea, the guy that was in the hot red suit? God, what I wouldn't give for him to be interested in me." She whined through the phone.
"Oh."
"Yep! The date is tonight by the way. We're meeting at Hawley's at six." My breath hitched in my throat.
"Tonight?! And Hawley's?! How the hell are we going to afford that place, the appetizers are twenty dollars on their own."
"Alex said not to worry about paying, just to come beautiful and hungry." I chuckled at that and so did Stacey. Alex seemed pretty decent, so maybe it would keep the mood light. I mean, what could go wrong?
"Alright fine. I'll go but only because we don't have to pay for food." Stacey burst out laughing again.
"Yea, yea, you love free food."
"That I do. What are we going to wear? Isn't that place like super upscale?" I questioned beginning to feel unsure.
