"And you didn't know these men, Ms. Kross?"

I shook my head. "No." I refrained from saying anything about Kason being connected to them. It would ruin the small bond that we had, if it was a bond at all.

"Did they say anything that could help us in identifying them?"

"Yea, one of the men called the other Chuck. They also said something about needing to leave before you arrived because some Lucy person would be upset with them."

"Mmm. I see. If it is who I'm suspecting, we've dealt with them on multiple occasions." The cop stated. I nodded and watched as he scribbled down a few more notes.

"Now do you have anyone you could stay with for a few days? It's not safe for you to be alone in the days following an incident."

"I'm not sure. I could make a few calls I suppose. Oh wait, I can't. Those men took my phone."

The cops eyes snapped to mine and widened.

"They took your phone? Are you sure?"

I nodded, "Very. I checked my room and I couldn't find it anywhere."

"We'd be able to track them if they still have it. Would you mind coming to the station so we can use the information to track the phone?"

"Yea I guess." He nodded promptly and led me to his car.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
When we reached the station I was taken to a room filled with computers and different monitors that showed multiple radars and blips.
"Ms. Kross, this is Cal." A short, balding man looked up at me and gave a nod of acknowledgement. "He's our technology analyst. Basically all he needs is your number and he can find the IP address of your phone. After that we just type that information here and it will show the current location of your phone."
I nodded slowly. "What will happen after you guys find them?"
"They will be handled. This is their third offense, if it is the same people. They've attempted robbery and kidnapping before, but nothing this extreme."
I sighed and the officer said it was time to begin.
Cal took my number and plugged it in, it took a few minutes but sure enough my phone information was displayed on the screen.
"Now we do a little click here and a paste there.." Cal trailed off, tapping away at his keyboard.
"Annnnd bingo!" A small dot showed up on the screen.
"These guys have got to be kidding." The officer said.
"What? Where are they?" I questioned.
"They're still some where in your house."
My eyes widened and I looked at the screen. Cal pointed to the bottom corner at which an address was displayed. Sure enough, they were still in my home.
"W-What are we going to do?" My voice quivered at the thought of them still being there.
"We'll send our special ops to do a thorough search. After that you'll be free to return home, if we catch them."
I gulped and nodded, feeing more uneasy than I had before.
The officer made me wait at the station while the search was ongoing.
I wondered if Stacey had heard about this, or if she'd even texted me yet.
About an hour later the ops team returned, but no one was taken into custody.
"We searched the entire home but they were nowhere to be found. We had Cal send over the IP so we could use a close range radar, turns out your phone was just under the bed. It must've fallen when they searched for you." A tall man stated as he handed my phone back over to me.
I immediately checked it to see that there were no notifications. From anyone.
"I would suggest not staying in your home for at least a week, maybe longer if they're still at large." The officer said.
Grimacing I turned to him, "I don't have anyone to stay with."
"No one? Close friends? Family?"
"No. My mom moved to Lansing, I've been living there on my own."
He frowned and gave me a look of pity.
"Well if that's the case we can send a few officers over every night to keep an eye on things. Or if you're uncomfortable with them being in your home we can have them stationed down the street?"
"That would be great. Thank you so much."
"It's really no problem, Ms. Kross. It's going on 9:30 now so would you like an escort?"
I nodded, and he spoke with the other officers people leading me outside. Two of the other men came along with us and rode behind as we drove to my house.
"This is officer Kells and Harley. They'll stay parked outside for tonight, but if you feel uncomfortable at all just use this pager and they'll come in and scope things out." He said, handing me a small black box.
"Just tap the button on the side and they'll respond. Like this." He pressed the button and shortly after a beep was heard.
"As long as it beeps, then you'll know they're on their way."
I nodded and offered him a quiet thank you.
"Please, don't hesitate to page them. If you're the slightest bit uncomfortable they really have no problem coming to help. Also, if you plan on having any visitors, be sure to let one of them know. Anyone that approaches the premises will be met with lethal force."
He chuckled slightly, and I smiled. "Thanks again, I can't imagine what would've happened if you didn't come when you had."
"It's my job. I really must get back now, Cal wants to do some more searching."
With that, he waved and turned on his heel to make his way to his car. Kells and Harley remained parked in my driveway and I waved goodnight to them.
They flashed the headlights in response and I made my way into the house, locking the door behind me.
To Stacey: almost got kidnapped today. Thanks for caring.
I looked down at the sentences and decided to leave it at that. I couldn't care less if she responded or contacted me ever again.
Sitting in the living room, I turned on the television to find something to watch.
I had just started to get into the movie when my doorbell rang.
"It's probably just the officers." I mumbled to comfort myself.
I rose from the couch, and walked to the door. Opening it wide, my breath hitched in my throat.
"Ahh, there she is." The man smirked.
I hadn't realized I was crying until he reached out and smeared the tears across my cheek.
"Now that the heat has died down, I think it's time we get going, Audrey."
My eyes widened and I looked into the driveway to see the police car had been shattered, as if an elephant was dropped on it.
"Don't worry, I'm not like those brutes from earlier. I'm the one they call when they need to get the job done. So let's get going shall we?"
