"Don't worry, I'm not like those brutes from earlier. I'm the one they call when they need to get the job done. So let's get going shall we?"
I stood silent and just stared at the man, letting my tears fall down my face.
"I mean if this is what you were like earlier, I don't understand how those idiots didn't catch you."
Saying nothing, I nodded and kept my eyes locked on his.
"Now if you don't mind dear, I'm going to blindfold you. Makes things less complicated."
I stood motionless, and the dark haired man placed a bandana over my eyes and tied it tightly.
"Hold on tight." He muttered, before I knew what he meant air was blowing though my hair and I felt as if I was flying.
It went on like that for sometime. Me clutching to this mysterious man for dear life in silence as we, flew I guess?
I don't know how long it had been before we finally landed and he helped me stand straight.
"We're not somewhere that anyone would want to help you, so please don't scream or cause a scene. Understood?"
I just nodded. What else was I supposed to do? Flail around blindfolded to find a savior?
I heard him sigh contently as he grabbed my hand and began leading me beside him.
"My name is Dominic by the way. I suppose you've guessed by now that I work for Lucy."
"Yea." I mumbled, holding onto him to keep from falling over myself.
"I don't think she wants to kill you, so that's a plus. Those dumbasses she sent after you weren't even supposed to take guns, she'll have their heads for committing such a crime."
I kept silent and allowed him to continue talking, gathering whatever information I could.
"You see, there's something about you that has her curious, that has most of us curious really. That's all this is. Us trying to find out what makes you so different from the other mortals."
"Can I ask you something?" I whispered, my body too afraid to speak.
"I suppose it's only fair." The man replied.
"What do you mean when you say mortals? I mean I'm a human, aren't you?"
The man chuckled beside me, "Hardly anymore, I was once. That's why they send me when things go wrong. I understand the trauma of something like this."
I only hummed in response as we stopped.
"A-Are we here?"
"No, we're just outside. We need to walk through a few doors now, so try and step over the doorsteps."
I nodded and kept myself close to him, hoping to some higher power I wouldn't trip.
As he said, we passed through two doors at what I'm guessing was the front of a building.
It was quiet as we continued inside. I could hear jumbled whispers, and footsteps echoed around us, but there was no noise beyond that.
"Last one." He mumbled, leading me through another doorway.
"Alright now there's going to be a chair. I'll help you sit, then I'm leaving. Someone will be in to talk with you shortly after. Sound good?"
"I guess." He chuckled at my response and helped me lower myself to sit.
