Giovanni Haynes

Eating in such a small diner was far from my scene though I can not complain since Ciara was the one who choose it. I was sitting on the patio waiting for her where the palm trees stood and transportation could be seen driving by.  It's a very calm and comfortable environment I'd say.

"Cousin I'm telling you, that woman is crazy you should get away for a bit." Mateo says on the other line.

"I'm starting to think you're right. I've ignored her mischievous and vindictive ways for too long."

"I can't believe she had the audacity to threaten sweet Heather."

I chuckle at his statement even though his voice gave away how serious he was. Miss Lambert was unlike any woman he dated but that still never stop him from flirting shamelessly with her whenever he stopped by the office.

"So when can we discuss my percent in Anton Industry?"

"Not anytime soon." I assure him as I watch the woman I'm waiting for wait to cross the street.

"I'm assuming that means you're making progress with that pretty woman?" Mat ask sounding like he wasn't surprise. Though who can blame him, I'm Giovanni Haynes after all.

"You assume correctly cous, but right now I have to go."

"Alright man."

I disconnect the call and stand as Ciara approach.

Instead of her normal formal wear, she was dressed in a more casual wear. A white long sleeve blouse with gold buttons, a gold colour leather pants and gold stilettos. Her dark hair was comb to the back of her head in what they call a bun.

She is simply divine.

"I see you finally decided to go out with me." I say as we both take a seat.

She pause in fixing her white purse, her grey eyes snapping in my direction. "I think you're getting the wrong idea here."

I narrow my eyes at her, wondering where she was going with this.

She sigh, "Listen I apologise. It is my fault I should have explained to you further last night." She pause. "I'm here on behalf of Flare Magazine I want to cover a story on you."

I lean back in my seat and smirk at her. So this is why she called me out on a Saturday afternoon.

"Hi Ciara." A young waiter greets. He was smiling at her.

"Hello Delan. How are you?" I couldn't help but notice how relax she was talking to this kid.

"I'm alright." He says and by his actions I figure out why he was behaving like this.

I have to give it to him, he had exquisite taste in women.

"Delan?" She calls pulling him from whatever trance he was in. "Can I please get the usual and a room temperature water."

Her usual  that means she came here often, I wonder what her usual is. The kid nod before turning his attention to me, his smile completely gone.

I smirk at him. If he was a few years older I bet he would be a problem for me and my plans. "I'll have whatever it is she's having."

After he left I turn my attention back to Ciara who I caught staring at me, even though she tried to look away quickly.

"So Miss Mendes tell me more about this interview." I lean forward just to irritate her a bit.

Unfortunately she did not seem faze. "Well I want to focus more on who Giovanni Haynes is. I want to see more of your personal side."

I smirk at her, "Personal, huh?"

"I meant for the world. Look my boss wants me to do this story -"

I stop listening to what she is saying as I watch the waiter return. The only reason she wants to even do an interview with me was because of her boss!  For some reason it hurt to know this, it would have been better if I still thought that she had forgiven me and wanted to do this without the influence of her boss.

The boy place two water bottles on the table and two glass cups, he place some kind of pastry in front of Ciara and a large cheese fries before placing the same in front of me.

"What is this?" I ask a bit upset.

"It's cheese fries sir. " he says emphasising the word cheese as if that was not very obvious.

"Not this. I mean that you imbecile!"

Before the boy could speak Ciara interrupt, "Delan please come back later I'll handle this."

As soon as he left she direct her focus on me. I should thank Heavens then that she could not shoot laser from her eyes.

"Why did you have to behave like that? And it's only bread pudding not poison, if you didn't know what my regular was why did you order the same?"

The look she was giving me made me feel like an experiment and her the scientist, "Oh I get it. I'm the one you should be cross with not that poor boy, he did nothing wrong."

Ciara Mendes

He continue to gaze at me before he decided to say something, "How did you even get that number?"

"What?" I ask slightly upset and confuse.

He ignored everything I said before and ask that, how am I suppose to know what he is talking about.

"My number. The one you used to call me last night." He says void of any emotion for the first time since we met.

"Oh." I remember what Lindsay told me. "I got it from your girlfriend."

Now he was the one who seem confuse, suddenly his expression change to one that resembles a child caught doing something he shouldn't be doing; then it was changed to a more relaxed expression.

"You mean that blonde who works at Flare? She's not my girlfriend."

I shake my head, either Lindsay was lying as usual are this man sitting before me is the one doing the lying.

"This would be interesting for my column. Tell me Mr Haynes do you always stalk women to get them to go out with you and then go sticking your tongue down the throats of other women?"

I watch as he pops a fry in his mouth which reminds me that I still haven't touch mine. A pleasing look makes it way on his face.

"First of all Miss Mendes I did not agree to do an interview with you, but I will answer this one question for your personal satisfaction. I do not stalk women and if the woman I want to go out with refuses to- what is it to her if I decide to taste the lips of other women?"

'You vile bastard!' Was what I wanted to yell at him. I don't know why what he said bothered me so much to the point where I wanted to leave from here and tell Mrs Florence to hell with this promotion.

Maybe dad was right. Maybe it was all this stress; I need to get away for a while and with mom coming here, what best time to leave than now.

"You're right." I say instead. "It's none of my business and if you are not going to do this interview then I don't see a reason for me being here."

I spotted Delan serving a customer and call him over. "Here is my card sweetie-"

"I got this." Giovanni interrupts."

"This is not a date Mr Haynes and I am very much capable of paying for my own meal."

He sighs. "I know Miss Mendes, just take it as my way of apologising for being rude."

"Fine." He gave Delan his card and a huge tip.

I roll my eyes standing to leave when he called. "Buttercup? I'll do this interview."

I turn around to look at him, "Under one condition."

I should have known. "And what would that be?"

"I'm leaving tomorrow for a two weeks  business trip and I take it that you were given a deadline?" Instead of waiting for my answer he continue, "Why don't you come with me?"
