Ciara Mendes

Never leave a woman waiting. I remember dad had told my cousin Enrico Mendes when he came to live with us when we both attended highschool. It was right around senior year when Eve had been recognise by someone from a popular modeling agency in New York.

He had gotten a date with Betty Crocker a aggressive yet beautiful cheerleader who had a crush on him. Though Evei thought of it more as Betty just wanting to be with him because he was handsome and from a wealthy family.

Enrico wasn't interested in her and decided to accept going out with her after the third time she ask —out of pity. The day of the date he had been caught up in a game of pool with Micah and had forgotten about Betty, arriving two hours late.

It resulted in him being drenched in orange juice.

Giovanni had said he'd be here at eight thirty. I remembered because I wrote it down and went to bed early in order to be able to wake up six am so that I could pack, gather my equipments together and get ready and it was now nine fifteen and there was still no sign of him.

For a minute I wondered if something bad had happened to him. There were stories of how he's a man whore and he didn't exactly give me a good impression since we met. He was always so cocky and full of himself but still it would affect me in someway if God forbid something bad was to happen to him.

Two minutes past and the door bell rang. I grab my suitcase and shoulder bag assuming that must be him. My assumptions were proved to be correct as I open the door to reveal him in his Prada suit and a grin on his face.

He looked perfectly fine standing before me.

"You're late." I say with a blank face though his grin never went away as he watches me from head to toe.

I was wearing a tight grey shirt and 97 percent cotton pants with 3 percent of polyester which was very comfortable,  in fact it was the most comfortable pants I owned. On my feet I wore grey shoes that I brought online from honeybum and I was wearing the matching silver bracelet and necklace dad had gifted me for my nineteenth birthday. My hair was in a messy bun, by the look on his face I knew he wasn't judging my attire even though everything I wore only cost me thirty four dollars not including the jewellery.

"Um sorry I went to pick up breakfast for us, its in the car." He says pointing to the red car parked at the side of the road.

It look a bit like the Nissan GT-R and a Ferrari 458 combined. It was breath taking.

"It's from Sweet Tooth."

I remove my focus from the car and to him the moment his words registered in my head. I must say I appreciate it.

"What did you get?" I lock the house door behind me and put the keys in my bag.

I attempt to grab the handle of my suitcase when Giovanni beats me to it.

"I wasn't sure what to get so I got you a coffee, one of those bread pudding, pancakes, eggs, bacons and waffles just incase you don't like pancakes."

I refuse the strong urge to laugh as we descend the steps. He seemed a bit nervous for some reason and for once he wasn't being conceited. I did not even bother telling him that I didn't drink coffee, it was the thought that counts.

"Thanks but you really didn't have to get me so much." I was about to ask who didn't like pancakes before remembering that Zendra hates them.

He smile at me after putting my bags in the backseat where his suitcase was.
