Remi's POV

I wake up and look around. Where am I? It's so bright in here, the sun is glaring and everything in this room is white. The benches and tables have plastic on the edges, why would there be plastic on the edges of the tables? I get up out of the bed I'm in to close the curtains, I am wearing a white hospital dress and I see the cuts all over my arms and legs, my memory comes back to me, I tried to kill myself. Why is no body in here? Where's my mom? I decide to walk outside of my room to see if I can find anyone to tell me what's going on.

The hallway is white and I see many people around me. Young people mostly. I can see cuts on people's arms and legs. I end up walking into what seems to be a living room, lots of people are in here, watching tv, talking, playing board games. The tables in here have plastic on the corners too. I decide to sit down on one of the empty sofas by myself.

"Remi!" Someone calls and I turn around. "You're awake!"

I don't say anything, I don't know who this oldish blonde woman is but maybe she can tell me some stuff. I stand up and walk towards her.

"Hello Remi, I'm your nurse, Mandy." She says, really calmly.

"Hi." I reply, I'm so nervous.

"Do you know where you are, and why you're here?" Mandy asks.

"I think I'm in hospital. I tried to kill myself." I say.

"You're right, it's good to know you have you're memory. But this isn't just any hospital, this hospital is especially for young people like you that have gone through difficulties and we are here to help them, and you." She says to me.

"Have all these people tried to kill themselves?" I ask.

"Come and sit down and we'll talk." Mandy says and we sit down on the sofa I was sitting on before, people are looking at me but I don't care, I need answers. "Most of the people here have tried to commit suicide, others are here because their parents are worried they will do that."

"Where's my mom?" I ask.

"At work, she came here the first 3 days but we said she should go back to work."

"Wait, how long have I been here for?" I ask, really confused.

"5 days now. You were in a coma for 4 days. Your mum only just went back to work yesterday, she was here 20 hours a day, she only ever left to get something to eat and have a shower and things like that. We thought it would be best if she went back to work. We didn't know if you would wake up, you're a lucky girl."

"I'm not lucky, I did it because I wanted to die!" I slightly yell.

"It's okay Remi, the staff and I are all going to help you get through this." Mandy says, he voice is so calming, I like her being my nurse.

"Why are there plastic bits on the edges of tables and stuff?" I ask.

"So people don't hurt themselves. Once people get put in here, they will find anyway to hurt themselves. That is why everyone is not allowed razors to shave your legs with. There is only cold water in all the taps apart from the showers, which there has to be a nurse watch you shower at all times."

"What why? I don't want people watching me shower." I ask.

"To make sure you don't turn the hot water up all the way so you burn yourself." Mandy says.

"It's okay, I won't burn myself." I say, trying to get her not to watch me shower.

"I know you wont Remi, but I have to otherwhys I lose my job. It's fine I promise." Mandy says. "Now I have to take care of one of the other patients, will you be okay here? Everyone's friendly here I promise."

"I should be fine, thank you for talking to me." I say and Mandy walks off.
