Yoongi

Mom was always the the type to tell you things as they were without remorse. She often times criticized me and in others she'd praise me. My relationship with my parents had always been rocky, even from the very beginning. Knowingly how terrible they could be, I couldn't help but love her. Sure she had moods that changed faster than the speed of light but she was mine.

"Yoongi!" My dad called from the other room, his voice pitched with both rage and laughter. I walk into the second living room to find him lying on the couch with his hand held out for another drink. "Get it yourself," I retort, turning to walk back to my room. Before I even leave the room I feel the sting of a crushed can hitting the back of my head. "It wasn't a request. It was a fucking demand." I scoff, almost laughing out right at the thought of his threats.

"You don't scare me. Get it yourself." Smirking, I begin to walk back down the hallway with my pride on my shoulder. Slam! My face hits the ground with an agonizing burn. "Talk back again, I dare you."

"Oh I'm so scared!" This time, I do laugh. His fist collides with my cheeks several times before he changes tactics. He slams my head against the wall until purple tunnels my vision. In the back of my mind I see my mom smiling which in turn only makes me smile.

"What are you smiling about," is the last thing I hear before I blackout.

My mind enters a dream. I know it's a dream because in it my family is normal and everything is okay. My father is a businessman who tells me good luck on the test, my brother is the same, protective. But my mom, my mom is cooking and singing like she used to before I turned the age of six. It's perfect.

Too bad it couldn't stay that way, right?
