[Name] steps out the shower. The water drops to the floor as she grabs a towel to dry off. She's having an awful day.
Her boyfriend broke up with her, she doesn't have the funds to continue college, her parents stopped sending her money after they had a fight about her career goals, and her shitty job just fired her. The only thing going for her is the house she inherited from her grandmother that passed away.
With a grunt, [Name] wraps herself in a robe and exits the bathroom. She misplaced her lotion bottle, so now she's hunting for it.
[Name] passes her front window, spotting a black van outside her home. She pretends like she doesn't notice the three men staring at her as she closes the curtains. A shiver runs down her back.
Something is off about that van. A grim sensation settles in the back of her mind, eating away at the little stability that remained.
[Name] finds her lotion in her living room. She sits on her sofa, rubbing the lotion on her body as she watches mind-numbing TV. While doing this, she pushes those three men and the black van to darkest parts of her memory.
...
Existential dreads seeps into [Name's] skin once she realizes there is nothing to fill her wide-open schedule.
When she had a job and a boyfriend, she filled her schedule with events and dates. Those outings distracted her from the crippling loneliness that plagues her mind.
Piece by piece, her life is falling apart, and there's nothing she can do to lift her spirits. A friend is all she needs, but for some reason, she cannot make any friends here.
[Name's] hometown is not Konoha, in fact, it's Iwa. Her grandmother is the one from Konoha, and her father migrated to Iwa and met her mother. That's where she grew up.
Of course, [Name] came up to visit her grandparents when she was younger but she can't remember much of it.
She's grateful for her grandma. But sometimes, she wished that she had refused the house, or sold it, or rented it out to some college students. She regrets leaving home. At least there she had friends.
Her boyfriend from Iwa came with her when she moved. She thought Deidara would stay with her forever. Unfortunately, he cracked under pressure and returned home, leaving her after their huge fight.
This morning she got a text from him saying that they're over. The weight of this conflict hasn't hit her yet, not until now where she's left with only her thoughts and the buzzing sound of her TV.
A single tear leaves [Name's] eye and runs down her face. She doesn't bother to wipe it. Instead, she grabs Deidara's favorite blanket and hugs it. She buries her nose into it, smelling his scent that's gradually fading.
Her insides feel like ice, freezing her from the inside out. Even her hot shower couldn't warm her up. Her fingertips tingle from the numbness she feels worm its way into her body.
The argument [Name] had with Deidara flashes into her mind, and she clenches her eyes shut. "I'm so stupid!"
She didn't mean to try to be so controlling. She overlooked his suffering and positioned herself first before anything.
"Deidara, please come back," she utters, hugging the blanket tighter. "I'm sorry."
[Name] wallows for a bit before standing up. Although she misses Deidara, she cannot allow herself to be filled with grief. She knows he isn't coming back, he said it himself. There is only one step she can take, and that is to rid her home of his things. All the mementos, the gifts he gave her, his clothes, everything.
"I can do this," [Name] says, pumping herself up for the hardest decision of her life.
"I am strong."

A/N: I think short angsty chapters are the right way to go for this book.
