"I would have said how happy I was that you were back.. but I don't want to lie" Lora said pulling her chair beside me and sitting down. She crossed her legs and sipped the Starbucks coffee she had brought with her. Suprisingly she had brought one for me too.

I rolled my eyes at her statement, "I told you not to bring anything for me"
I hated people helping me out. It felt like they pitied me. In this case, they pitied me for being suspended and then called back again.

"It's your welcome back present" Lora said in a sarcastic tone.

"Well..."

"Well it's better than Toby giving you a gift voucher for a Thai Spa day. Could you believe his audacity to make you relax and have a peaceful day, enjoying yourself even for once?" I saw the sarcasm she was hinting at as she pretended it to be nothing, "I knew you would waste it. So I took it instead and gave you something you enjoy.. Coffee" She gave me a bright sarcastic smile and continued with what else they were planning as my welcome back gifts. As usual I didn't bother to listen to her further elaboration of the same.

"Hey.." I was engrossed in my work when suddenly she jerked my chair to turn it to her side, "You are going to tell me what happened, right?"

"What?" I really had no clue as to what she was asking.

"What did the Boss talk about yesterday?" Lora asked and started again before I could protest on that, "Hey, before you try avoiding the question, everyone knows you were here yesterday afternoon. So, dish out girl"

I rolled my eyes again, "Nothing to dish out.. It's not a scandalous gossip" I looked at her glaring at me, so in defeat, I continued, "But yeah, I went to know why in a day his mood changed and he had to call me back. That's it"

"That's it?" Lora asked pulling my chair closer to her, "How is that it? What did he say? We should give him a name though.. It gets really confusing with two Mr Ryders.. something like McSteamy from the Anatomy series.. He definitely describes it perfectly with the way he looks and carries himself.. perfect abs I presume..."

"Hey.. hey.. focus.." I snapped my fingers in front of her face not wanting to continue where her thoughts were going at.

"Yeah.." She came back from her fantasy world a little too unenthusiastically, "Continue.. so..what did he say? Why did he call you back?"

I shrugged focusing on the budget for the floral arrangements,"Its too high.." A jerk on the chair and I got back at her question again, "Yeah.. He said I wasn't guilty.. Someone tampered with those files and that wasn't me. Happy now?"

"What do you mean someone tampered with those files?" She looked at me like she has heard the most suprising thing of late, "Who was it? How did they get to know? Why would they..."

"Lora" I grabbed both her arms and gave a jerk, sighing I gave in as I did something I hadn't done before except for with Noah- confide in someone else,  "I don't know who the person is and he said they are still investigating. He told me not to tell anyone as it might be an inside job, so you better keep it completely to yourself. I hope you can do that bit with all the other gossips to talk about around here, right? Good! Now, I have a lot of work to be done, so can we discuss this later?" Like never?!
I was embarassed, not only because I confided in her, but also because I knew she realised this as well. I had told her something I hadn't shared with anyone- I trusted her, maybe just for this topic, but I did which is something very new to me. Her eyes glinted with understanding.

"Yeah!" She nodded thoughtfully and slowly backed away her chair while still sitting on it.

The phone rang on my desk and I quickly picked up to find the annyoance spread over my face by the voice, "Hello.."
