Chapter 13

"Come in."

(Name) welcomed her doctor into her house, a little nervous of what would happen now that he's here. This was also the first time she ever brought a guy home, so it was quite awkward for her.

"Sorry, it's messy. I live alone, so-"

"It's not messy at all. Don't worry about it."

Her words are stopped by him.

"I-I'm glad if that's the case."

She said awkwardly.

"A-anyway, Todoroki, please make yourself at home. I'm going into the kitchen for a while. Um, if you want to take a bath or anything, feel free to do so. That room over there was my brother's. I believe his clothes are still there. You can wear it if you want."

(Name) told him as she pointed towards a room not far from where she stood. Todoroki only stared at the room's door.

This was also his first time in a girl's house, so he also didn't know how to react or behave.

Well... it was awkward for both of them actually.

"Is it okay if I do that?"

He suddenly asked. (Name) just wore a wry smile on her face as she was a little confused by his question. She tilted her head to the side a bit.

"Y...es...?"

"I mean, is it normal to go into someone's house and casually take a bath in it? You even let me wear your brother's clothes. Is that okay?"

(Name) was immediately frozen after she heard the question from him.

He's quite right.

What normal girl would let a guy into her house and allow him to get into one of the rooms?

'Shit.'

Her inner side spoke.

'Now he'd think I'm weird.'

On the outside, she was still able to put up the frozen awkward smile on her face, but on the inside, she was frantically thinking of a proper excuse to answer him.

If she told him the wrong things, then he might just thought that she was trying to seduce him or anything. Of course, she didn't want that to happen.

"W-well..."

She tried to come up with an excuse.

"I was just thinking... M-maybe you're tired from all the work. So it'd be better if you take a bath while I prepare for the dinner. T-that's all."

Todoroki just gave her a blank stare.

Just his eyes fixed on her, no particular emotion or expression.

Somehow, it made (name) extremely nervous. Her petty excuse might make him misunderstood her, so she just bit her lips anxiously. Then, Todoroki finally spoke.

"Alright then, if you'll excuse me for the intrusion."

She just sighed in relief, followed by her usual cheerful smile.

"Of course, no problem. I'll prepare the towel and clothes for you."

With that remark, she led Todoroki to the empty room and gave him a clean towel and shirt for him to wear. Then, she strode to the kitchen.

"Yosh, I'm going to cook Zaru Soba now."

She mumbled on her own as she took a large pot of water and put it on the stove.
