~HOSPITAL GOWN🦴
"Hey." Jack smiled softly.
"Hi." Kaylee whispered.
"You look so different in a hospital gown. You're not in your chromatic outfits." The boy shrugged, choking up.
"I know." She nodded.
He put his head in his hands and groaned frustratedly and Kaylee could hear his sobbing.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jack cried, looking up. "Tell us."
"Tell you what?" Kaylee mumbled, tears in her eyes. "That I was dying?"
Jack nodded. "Yeah that."
"Its not that easy. I wasnt going to walk up to guys and be like 'hey I'm Kaylee Edwards and I'm dying.' Was I?" Kaylee choked.
"You let me fall in love with you." Jack whispered.
"I didn't tell you to." Kaylee shook her head. "I didn't want you to get attached."
"But I did." Jack mumbled. "We all did. I'm in love you."
"I know you are." She looked down. "I'm in love with you too."
"Don't." Jack held his hands up. "Daniel wants to see you."
He walked out of the room and Daniel sat down in the seat Jack had once sat in.
"Jack's upset." He shrugged.
"I know." Kaylee sobbed. "I didnt want you guys to find out this way."
"Kaylee stop kidding yourself." Daniel sighed. "You didnt want us to find out at all. You were just going to die and then let us believe that you disappeared or moved without warning."
Kaylee didn't say anything but only shrugged.
"What is it?" He asked.
"An ischemic heart disease." She mumbled and Daniel wasnt sure if she was laughing or crying. "I'm not even supposed to be in school but I told them I wanted a high school experience, that-that I wanted to live a life outside of these stupid hospital walls."
"What about your parents?" The blue eyed boy questioned.
"Parents?" She frowned. "I don't know where my mom is and my dad can hardly look at me."
"How long do you have left?" He looked at his shoes.
"A couple days." Kaylee shrugged.
He looked like he was about to fall apart and tears poured out his eyes.
He took a deep breath. "Then these are gonna be the best couple days of your life."
