==> Be Leo, once again.

❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄

It took another week for Luna to finally wake up. It was 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon; a humid day. You remember it so clearly, seeing that you haven't been that emotionally overwhelmed since your first night in the system.

You had gone into her room, just to chill out. It was nice and cool in there, so on such a day, it was the perfect place to be. It wasn't nearly as depressing anymore, not after you saw her again in the dreamscape. You knew she'd wake up any day now, it was only a matter of time.
Still, you missed her. She was a good friend, and a crush of yours for close to a year, and kind of your girlfriend. You didn't know. It wasn't official yet.
This was the first time in a while that she wasn't lurking nearby. It was lonely, not gonna lie; and sure, your siblings were cool and all. So was Piper, and everyone else. But like we said in the first book, Luna understood you better than others. And she was a LOT easier to talk to.

So when you casually opened the door to find Luna upright in bed, playing with Fez, fully awake, you almost screamed. Your voice was stuck in your throat. You stood there, frozen, your mouth gaped like a god damn goldfish. Was it for real? Was it a hallucination?

Once you actually composed yourself, You dropped everything and ran over to her.

"Luna!" You cried, tackling her into a bear hug. You didn't know what you were saying, whether or not you were speaking English, or if you were making any sense. What mattered in that moment that Luna was awake.

Luna wrapped her arms around your neck, hugging you back and sighing gently. She was still her cold self, though she never felt more warm in your life.
"Hey... Guess who finally thawed?" She whispered. You could feel the smile on her lips and the laugh in her voice. It was something you missed. Her voice, however, was raspy from the lack of use. You could feel her bones, she hasn't eaten since being frozen-- obviously. Hugging her was like hugging a shopping cart.

Totally worth it.
You pulled away, your hands grasping her shoulders as you looked her over for anything wrong.

"Are you okay? You're skinny as fuck... Have you had any coffee yet? How did you wake up??" You began to ask a ton of questions, your voice was working way faster than your brain, so you probably sounded like an idiot.

You didn't expect Luna to reach up and press her cold lips to yours, but oh well. Not that you were complaining.

==> Be Luna

I panicked.
Again.
(Although I didn't slap Leo! That's progress :D)

He just seemed so overwhelmed, and it was in turn overwhelming me, so I.... Y'know... I grabbed him by the collar and... Uh...

I kissed him.

It was really tentative, I didn't know what I was doing, like at all. I was like okay, Leo's freaking out. Gotta kiss him to get him to shut up.
I didn't really plan for afterwards though? Which I really needed to get into the habit of doing. Oh well.

❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄

You were pretty much in shock that Luna could even kiss somebody. She was insanely shy and wasn't one for initiating things, at least from what you knew about her.
Not that you minded, though.

You happily kissed back, for real this time. It was even better than in the dreamscape, or even Greenland. It was passionate and long, seeing that both of your feelings have been marinating for eight entire months now.
If it wasn't official back in Greenland, it totally was now.

You pulled her closer, your hands on her waist as her arms drape comfortably over your shoulder.
You just had to take her in for a second. Luna was there, she was really there. It wasn't some dreamscape that felt semi-real. There was no risk of dying. You both were safe and sound. It felt too good to be true. For once, in your seventeen years of life, the fates dealt you a good hand.

Eventually, you two are forced to pull away, since oxygen is an unfortunate element you need to survive. You two were left panting, faces flushed.

"Jesus Christ..." Luna muttered.
"I need some coffee." She swung herself over the edge of the bed, stood up, and promptly folded like an accordion.

SAO was a fucking lie. Apparently, you can't stand up right after a coma. And here I thought i'd be able to have a nice cup of coffee after I woke up! But no. I folded like a stupid lawn chair.

And you know what? When I saw Leo laughing his ass off, I wasn't even mad. That was utterly hysterical.
"Yea, ha ha. My suffering is hysterical. Help me up, you glorified chaotic neutral." I rolled my eyes, holding my arm out. Leo pulled me up, holding onto me as I got my bearings.

"Hey, you just made out with that glorified chaotic neutral." He quipped back. I stuck my tongue out. He returned the gesture.

"It's gonna be a while before I can walk without looking like a weirdo." I grumbled, limping around as I tried to get my legs to wake up.

"Where's Willow? And I'm assuming we successfully saved the world again?"
I brewed up a quick cup of coffee and collapsed onto the couch. Leo sat down next to me.

"Somewhere, and yes we did. Well... You and Willow did. I was busy dying."

I haven't been out of my coma for five minutes, and my boyfriend is already self deprecating. Fun shit.

"Okay, first of all, you got us there with your wicked pirate skills. So, you had a hand in the world saving."

"Anyone could have done that."

"Uhhh no? I couldn't have done that. I can't read a map. Willow would have killed us all before we got past Florida. I don't know what crackhead is in your head telling you that you're useless, Leo. But it needs to shut up." I casually sipped my coffee, staring at him. He was rather dumbfounded by my aggressive affection. Silence fell between us. A comfortable silence.

"Thank... You?"

I nodded.

My mind drifted to the day before Isaiah's prophecy. When I was venting to Leo about my problems with Oliver ghosting me for three years, and the conversation drifted to our abilities, and this depressed motherfucker was all like "ha ha I'm so useless!" When in reality he was far from it, and I was the only one who could see that, and--

Hdjdjfjsjdjsjs.

I just couldn't handle it! I could go on for days about how awesome he was, how badass his abilities and genius were, but I had no idea how to word it without being too cheesy.

Willow came into the room, and froze in place when she saw the both of us. Moreso me. Awake. With bruised lips (thanks, Leo.)

"Luna!!" She yelled, bolting towards me once she processed that this was for real and I was awake. I barely had any time to set my coffee down before I was once again tackle hugged.

"We were all so worried about you! It's been a month!! How are you feeling??"

I blinked a few times, hugging her back.

"I know, I'm fine." I replied quietly, rubbing her back. Affection was not my strong suit. It didn't really feel like a coma to me. I just talked to my dad, meditated and lived in the dreamscape for a bit. Hell, I was asleep half the time. I didn't see the need for anyone to worry. I suppose, though, that they had every right to.

Willow pulled away.
"I have to update everyone! We can talk later! Bye guys!" She ran off, shaking with excitement. I turned back to Leo.

"So how's Festus?"

"Good! Good, I'm almost done installing the hydrothermal system and the backup generator."

"Cool, cool."

It was good to be back.
