Use steel/silicon ice cube trays instead of plastic ice cube trays- they are environmentally friendly and they also last longer than plastic ones.
Use glass herb and spice containers instead of plastic containers.
Use plastic-free sponges when washing up
Use upturned plates/bowls/lids to cover food instead of cling film, or use reusable cling cloth. There are also recipes where you can make your own cling cloth.
Avoid using wet wipes- they are made from mostly plastic. Or, if wet wipes are a key staple in your life, try making your own wet wipes or buy reusable/ washable wet wipes.
Use biodegradable bin bags instead of plastic ones.
Keep food fresh without plastic- kale, herbs and asparagus will keep for longer when kept in a jug of water like a bouquet; celery and carrots will keep for longer when completely submerged in water; keep berries in a mason jar with the lid on and they'll stay fresh for ages.
