Seb had this huge pain on his chest.
He ignored it.
For most of the time.
The rest he coped with it the best he could.
He worked out the most he had in a while and kept doing something to keep his mind occupied.
Seb was doing his usual morning jog. He ran down the pavement, no earphones, he had decided that he liked the sounds of a waking city.
It felt somehow a bit liberating. Running, the air cold was soothing and it made him feel better, even for a moment.
He did his best to keep everything that reminded him of her away from his mind. He managed his breath and kept his gaze forward.
Seb stopped on his tracks.
Not again. Not again.
He had done his absolute best to keep her out. And she was there, holding a little blonde girl against her hip.
He could listen to her voice, her elegant German accent, the tender way she treated the girl.
The girl leant and pressed a kiss on Alyona's cheek. Seb found himself smiling, but regretted it when she turned and looked at him.
He walked up to her, he still smiled even though he knew he was feeding the flames.
"Maybe it's fate, Alyona." He said and smiled to the girl. "And who might this beautiful lady be?" He asked her sweetly in German.
The girl smiled and hid her face in Alyona's shoulder before she whispered something in Alyona's ear.
Alyona smiled. "She says her name is Tiana."
"That's a lovely name. I'm Sebastian."
Tiana tried to reach Alyona's ear, but Alyona pushed the girl away softly. "Tell him yourself, love. I won't be your owl."
"Mutter..." The girl said obviously annoyed.
Seb's breath caught in his throat. "You have a daughter?" He asked breathlessly.
She had a daughter. Maybe next time he'd also find her with a husband. Gods, he was the worst fool in the world to fall for her.
Fall? He hadn't exactly fell for her. Had he?
Alyona chuckled bitterly and switched to English. "I believe this is none of your business."
"Is that why you don't want to be with me?"
"No, Seb." She shook her head. "I believe my behaviour that night was inappropriate. Would you like to join us for breakfast?" She turned back to German. "Tiana would love to have breakfast with you. Would you, love?"
The girl nodded and giggled.
"What do you say, Seb?"
♚ ♚ ♚
It was monumental. Alyona had never seen Tiana so clingy on anyone else but her.
The girl was sitting on Seb's leg and was currently talking about how she put that boy in her kindergarten class in his place.
Seb was taken aback by how talkative Tiana was and how she so easily adapted to his presence. Unlike her mother. Seb had a huge difficulty understanding how Alyona had a daughter.
When Tiana had stopped talking and was concentrated on the colours on Seb's shirt, Sebastian looked up at Alyona and said in English. "Do you care to explain how?"
