"Aisha!" Sahir yelled.

"Yes sir!" Came an overwhelmed voice as she barged into his cabin.

"Who was she? I want her entire background report done and sent to me before the day is over, got it?" He commanded.

"Yes, sir." She responded, quite used to her boss's attitude by now. His aggressive manner of talking and commanding orders over his staff was well known by the entire company so no one even dared opposing him. Aisha soon left his cabin to get started on her job.

Sahir ran hand through his hair as rested his head back on the chair and closed his eyes. He couldn't get his mind off of that woman. Her fiery attitude and dominating nature really struck a chord within him. He wasn't used to being talked to with such aggressiveness, he was always the one who did the talking. But there was just something about this woman. The way her body swayed when she walked, the merciless tone in her voice that really made him want to know her.

She wasn't any ordinary girl. She was a hot-blooded, fierce lioness that he couldn't comprehend. Almost like a puzzle that he couldn't figure out yet he wanted to so badly.

He screamed in frustration as he slammed his laptop shut.

Maya scrunched her eyes shut as she fell onto the bed. Arjun thankfully hadn't been home. She had successfully ruined her shot at ever getting a job at Saiyaara because of her anger issues. Maybe she was mental, just like they all painted her to be after all.

Not that she cared but she preferred her house better when Arjun wasn't there. She couldn't even share a bedroom with that disgusting man. She didn't know whether to bask in the glory of his absence or feel agony over the fact that he was most likely outside their home fucking around with his two-cent mistress Saanjh. She always hated that bitch with a passion. Her mother-in-law must be reveling in happiness knowing that her Arjun had secured her wealth and the girl she wanted as her bahu too. Maya was so disgusted by those low-class people. She hated Saanjh and Vandana, her mother in law, especially but she couldn't help but blame her mother and Arjun for her feelings of defeat. Saanjh and Vandana were outsiders, they held no relation to her so she truly had no reason to be mad at them. But Arjun? Arjun took the promise to love her in sickness and in health, yet he so easily called her mad and washed his hands from her love. But would not even let go of their marriage for sake of her money. And her own mother? Maya prayed God would not even grant her worst enemy a mother like Jhanvi. She watched Maya suffer brutally at the hands of her father and never lifted a finger to save her. Maya suffered so much trauma because of these people and no one ever saved her. She tried to save all of them instead. And all she got was pain and betrayal. Maya wiped her tears as she looked at her idol lying on her window sill.

"Why didn't you ever send an angel my way? Don't I deserve love too?" She cried.

Sahir lay near his poolside in his white cotton kurta, as the glistening waves reflected onto his skin in the nightfall. He began reading through the file prepared for Maya Mehrotra's background. He wasn't ready for the can of worms he was about to open. It started from Maya's birth records and other normal paperwork but midway, it got dark.

At the age of 7, Maya had been hospitalized multiple times for abuse wounds in the most gruesome manners possible. Some cut marks, some electrocutions, some strangulations. No charges were ever pressed against anyone. Sahir questioned the legitimacy of this...growing up in a rich wealthy family, she suffered so many traumas and no allegations were ever made? His stone-cold heart broke a little seeing the multiple hospitalization records of the poor child.
