One month earlier

Arzoo smirked as she dropped the tablets in his glass smirking as she stirred it and quickly but silently escaped his room.

Sahir hastily opened the door to his room as he took his blazer off in a jiffy while sipping on the liquor in the flask. He shook the bottle slightly as he realized there was no more alcohol left in it's capacity. Clenching his jaw, needing a reason to be angry, he looked down at the glass of whiskey on his table, he wasn't sure how it had gotten there but his mind was enamored by the alcohol he had already sloshed down. Without thinking he gulped the entirety of the glass's contents in one action. Before he could fathom what was happening to him, his vision began to blur slightly. He saw a shadow of a woman approach him.

"Maya" he whispered.

He could barely keep his eyes open any longer as she slightly pushed him onto the bed. She straddled herself on him as she leaned forward and started kissing his neck while unbuttoning his shirt.

"Maya, I love you so much..." was the last thing he remembered saying before his mind went blank.

Only to realize the next morning, that she was not in fact his Maya.

________

Present day

Arzoo cried uncontrollably as she pleaded to him. "I'm sorry but this isn't my fault alone, Sahir. I didn't want this nor was I expecting it, but-"

She grabbed onto his shoulders as she made him face her.

"This child is a blessing, Sahir. Every child is a blessing. Maybe this was Allah's way of giving our relationship another chance."

Sahir looked at her as he removed his arms from her hold.

"Are you mad?! Our relationship? There is no us!"

"Sahir, please you can't do this to our child."

Sahir grunted in frustration as he pressed his forefinger and thumb to his temple as if he was in pain. Arzoo may have been a two-timing cheat, but he was equally at fault here. Who told him to drink so much that he couldn't differentiate between Arzoo and Maya? He may have spent the night with her thinking that she was Maya but the truth was that she wasn't. Maya and his chapter closed a long time back. The reality was that Arzoo was pregnant with his child, no matter how much he wished she wasn't. He wasn't even ready to father a child, it was a huge responsibility, but he could not shirk away. He was not a good person, but he wasn't a man to leave his child at the mercy of a single mother. He would not be able to sleep at night knowing he had a child out there somewhere. Sahir Azeem Chaudhary was many things, but definitely not a deadbeat father.

"Arzoo, there will never be an us."

As soon as she got ready to defend herself, he began speaking over her.

"I understand this child isn't just your fault, but I cannot live with you. I'm going to be honest, I don't want this reasonability nor was I anticipating it but I will never ask you to have an abortion for me. If you want to bring this child into the world, I will be there for him or her, I will give them my name. But solely as their father... I cannot be your husband. I will not subject myself to that again. We can co-parent without being married, Arzoo."

Arzoo contemplated over his words for a few minutes.

"And how can I guarantee that? Do you take me for a fool? You will easily say this and tomorrow when Maya comes back, you will leave your child penniless!" She scoffed.

"Maya and I will never be together. That is the least of your worries." He said, sternly.

Arzoo raised an eyebrow in confusion before she continued speaking "I don't believe you."
