a little something to keep everyone on their toes ;)

"Maya!" He gently shook her head, but to no avail. Taking her head in his lap like she was the most fragile existence in the universe, being careful not to hurt her but putting just enough pressure on her head so that she would regain consciousness. He grabbed a pitcher of water and sprinkled some on her face with the use of his fingers. Still not seeing any improvement in her condition, he decided to lift her up in his arms as he made his way out of her cabin while she hung lifelessly. Uncaring to the hawk eyes of her employers looking for any opportunity to gossip, he quickly led her to his car, sitting in the backseat with her body resting on him as he began instructing his driver to get her to the hospital as soon as possible.

"Doctor-what's wrong with her?"

"Is she your wife?"

Sahir halted for a second. The doctor wouldn't understand their relationship, heck nobody would.

"erm...yes." He responded.

"You should be taking better care of her. She's had such low blood pressure and that's not good especially given her condition-"

"Her condition?" Sahir asked as his face mirrored his confusion.

"Yes...her condition...she's five weeks pregnant."

Sahir stood there shell shocked as the doctor continued to say things that were beyond his comprehension. All he heard was that Maya was pregnant. There was no doubt in his mind that the child she was carrying was in fact his. Like a puzzle piece everything fit together in his mind. That was why she had ran like that upon seeing him in the pharmacy. She was carrying a little life inside of her that was half of him and half of her. The normal reaction would've been for Sahir to be scared of the responsibility or be upset, but he was neither. In fact, he felt overwhelmed with emotion and even a hint guilty for not knowing earlier.

A small smile curved at the corner of his lips.

A baby.

Maya and he were going to have a baby. A little tiny human that was half of both of them combined. As the doctor stopped talking, Sahir walked inside of the hospital room where Maya was laid on the stretcher. She weakly opened her eyes and gasped as she felt a hand sofly running over her midriff on top of the hospital gown. As her vision was no longer blurred, she saw Sahir standing in front of her with tear-filled eyes as he placed a kiss on her forehead.

"We're really going to have a baby, Maya? Hmm?" He asked as if he couldn't tolerate no for an answer. "There's a little one growing in there...a little tadpole." He chuckled before kissing her flat tummy.
