two days

mackenzie's pov-

I ran out of the school and  followed the ambulance to the hospital. they rushed her into the emergency room. I walked inside and it was really busy, but I didn't really give a shit. I went up to the reception desk and asked the woman if they didn't know any information on maddie yet.

she said not and i sat down in a cold metal chair. i took out my phone and started scrolling through instagram.

ruby, annie, lauren, and jayden walked in and ran up to me. They were asking me all of these questions and it was just a blur to me. Is this really happening? A doctor came up too me.

doctor: "maddie ziegler?".

I alarmly stood up from my chair.

doctor: "maddie is going to be alright. The cuts aren't too bad but, she has to stay here for two day's. you can go see her now".

mackenzie: "thank you".

I walked in her room and there she was laying peacefully on a hospital bed. I pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat in it. I grabbed her hand and held it for a while. I didn't want to let go of her but I had to go home, it was getting pretty late. I said goodbye to my friends and drove myself home.

when I got home I ate some food and fell fast asleep on the couch in the living room downstairs. I woke up and did my normal routine. I walked to school by myself and when I arrived I went directly to my locker. I grabbed my stuff that I need for my first few classes and went to class.

I didn't really pay attention in class at all, I could only think about is, maddie stepping in front of me and getting cut by Hayden.

|lunch|

annie: "kenzie are you going to eat your lunch?".

everyone sitting at the table looked at me.

mackenzie: "I'm not hungry".

I gathered my things and dumped my lunch tray. I walked out of the high school cafeteria and went to the bathroom. I looked in my pencil case for a pencil sharpener. I got the blade out and I cut my wrist a few times. I pulled my sleeve down and walked out in the hallway and there was lauren looking for me.

lauren: "kenzie are you okay?".

mackenzie: "I'm fine lauren".

lauren: "I'm here if you need anyone to talk to kenz".

lauren gave me a hug and I walked to my locker. I was putting my things in my locker when johnny suddenly walked up too me.

johnny: "hey ziegler. meet me in the cafeteria for a surprise after school".

I was confused. Why does he want me to meet him?
I went to my remaining two classes and waited for the school day to be over with already.
