Humans - The most dominant and expanded race across the material plane. During their rise, they were aggressive and greedy, pushing many other races to near extinction or into pure extinction. In their time they discovered a powerful kingdom of dwarves with which they allied to continue their expansion and grew more in numbers, tools, allies, and strength before finally discovering a race of giant men in the mountains. Their natural strength and size earned them the title of goliaths, and they were asked to be conscripts in the Army of the Kingdom of Man, they agreed if it meant making a name for their tribe. Their ingenuity, adaptability, and willpower made them one of the most expansive and powerful kingdoms during their conquesting days, only rivaled by the combined power of the elves and gnomes, taking control of 3/4 continents before being pushed back into their nation of Brimstone by the efforts of the invaders from Sasood, alongside the forces of gnomes and elves. From there they established a powerful and fair governmental system and spread their influence, trade, and gene pool across the lands, finding peace a better alternative to subjugation and destruction.
Gnomes - A once highly prominent race, now lesser in numbers. The Gnome race originated in Lucia the centermost nation. A land dominated by jungles and wildlife, a prime home for the gnomes. Starting out as tribes of herbalists and druids, the gnomes took kindly to almost all races, growing especially close to the elves that helped advance their people. Following the destruction of Lucia, the gnome race was spread thin, with the only major hotspot of gnomes being located in Wilshire, Brimstone, and the highest populace in the world located in the Kingdom of Magnim, a city of forest gnomes located only a few hundred feet beneath the surface of a lush forest within Wilshire, the rest of the species is spread throughout the world.
Elves - A prideful and highly advanced race. Descended from the fey of the Feywild, a beautiful and dangerous almost parallel plane to the material one. Developing and advancing without the influence of outside forces, they took their gorgeous city of Valtris to the material plane during an accidental attempt to set up planar locking runes, that keep extraplanar entities from coming into the city uninvited, this being a prevalent threat in the Feywild. They discovered the race of gnomes during their exploration of the material plane and took a liking to them, advancing their species. While the elves had an innate natural arcane power, it wasn't until they captured Yuan-Ti scouts that they took the knowledge of wild magic from them that they were able to truly achieve a new power, the power of modern magic. The elves used this power to create artifacts, early forms of spell books, and eventually when it came time, used this strength to crush a large nomadic tabaxi tribe and enslave them.
Dragonborn - A race of altered humanoids created during the age of the primordials, when the dragon gods Tiamat and Bahamut wished for followers in their image. These humanoids who were once worshippers of mixed races, were forcefully changed into that of a form resembling their scaled rulers. Using these forces Tiamat and Bahamut waged wars lasting eons against one another before all but two of each of the Dragonborn subspecies existed. Tiamat and Bahamut agreed to give them a chance to develop themselves, finding no further use for them and scattered each of the races across the material plane to reproduce and advance their race beyond that of mindless machines of war.
Tabaxi - A nomadic marsh fairing tribe. The massive primal race of the tabaxi evolved from the wild cats of what is now Elvenspire used to number in the millions. They were a peaceful, free, and compassionate race, sharing their materials with weaker species and aiding races such as the grung with resources and fighting power to repel races like the kobold and lizardfolk tribes that wished to take lands from the small frog race. It wasn't until they were discovered and mistreated by the "long ears" that came to their lands did they grow aggressive, waging war on the invaders that took their people as laborers. This war would prove detrimental, as the elves superior weaponry, armament, and innate arcane ability outshined the raw physical aptitude of the tabaxi, and their millions were dropped to only a couple hundred thousand. Seeing no chance for victory, the tabaxi had to surrender to save their numbers. They were put in chains and forced to work for the elves gathering raw materials, assisting in work at arcane refineries, and working as minute men conscripts in times of war. Their numbers would not rise again for thousands of years. However, following the end of the 1st major planar war, the elves would see the tabaxi as useful additions to the nation and grant them the chance to earn their freedom after years of required service they would be sent to a freed tabaxi city close to the capital to earn a living.
