The captain reels from the impact of the javelin and then points his blade toward Arwin as he moves to intercept the now charging Gronk.
Zavari peers over the edge of the carpet and points a finger toward the hooded figure. A sickly green beam of dark energy shoots down and slams into the figure's chest, as it does, he rolls with the impact, lessening the blow but still taking some of the effects and coughing violently even after the beam has vanished. She grabs the edge of the carpet and lifts it back off the roof, and toward her allies further from the enemy backline.
Alain raises a hand and closes it into a tight fist. A spectral shield adorned in spikes and flickering silver flames appears behind the approaching enemy line. It spins and slams into one of the scouts, cutting it clean in half and cauterizing the wound. In that same breath, with his other hand, he sends forth a cone of fire that burns away at half of the shield-wielding grunts that make up the frontline.
Thokk picks up the heavy club of one brute and slings it over his back. He sprints toward the gap in the lizardfolk line and swings his axe down into the shoulder of a grunt, the small lizard is cut in two, with its arm and part of its side falling to the ground before the rest of the body.
Zasheida sends another bolt of chaotic energy that becomes a streaking beam of fire, it slams into the hooded figure, causing their robes to catch fire. The figure tosses the tattered cloth to the side and stares at the two casters.
Zasheida and Zavari both see, a well-defined human man wearing a form-fitting black combat shirt and baggy pants. Both hands are adorned in gloves inscribed with magic, and they wear a sash of daggers across their chest. More glaringly, however, is the tattoo on his neck that reads '261' both of them instantly recognize the font and similar location to indicate that this man is an Inquisitor of Brimstone or at least a former one, Zasheida's suspicions were unfortunately correct. That one glimpse of the numbers made her worried, and now it seems she had every right to be.
Errich rolls through the legs of the lead warrior, he kicks off the ground and flips through the air, his blade going cleanly through the neck of one of the warriors. The head hits the ground before the body does. He lands and spins on his heels, bringing his other blade around and jamming it into the chest of the remaining warrior, it stumbles back. Errich hops back to catch his breath.
Grym speaks a druidic incantation, moving his hands asymmetrically to one another, his eyes rolled back in his head. The winds kick up dust and sand, and a small tornado of elemental dust and wind energy begins to create a loose form. A devil of dust emerges from the tornado, and the winds die down. The creature rushes forward and slams into one of the grunts remaining in the formation, shredding parts of approaching enemies' bodies with razor-sharp chunks of gravel and grains of sand that make up its body. As he breaks the summoning trance, the Gnome picks up a large stone and imbues it with magic.
Arwin rolls onto his knees, and as he rises, sends a bead of fire into the formation of archers and scouts. It explodes into a bright burning ball, that leaves nothing standing. Arwin spins to the captain, blood dripping from his wounds, his eyes radiating hatred.
Gronk reaches the captain and cracks one of the war hammers under its left arm, cracking into its ribcage.
The captain kicks Gronk in the chest, then stabs both of its blades into his stomach before bringing its teeth down on the goliath's bicep.
The unknown inquisitor sends a dagger flying toward the carpet. It tears a corner and causes the pair onboard to slam into the ground, right in the middle of both of the sides. He sprints with unnatural quickness towards the pair and stabs a rapier through Zasheida's thigh.
