It was still raining when Marinette heard the opening of her hospital window and saw the bright green eyes of a certain cat. Looking away from her sketch book and shining her flashlight, which her parents had brought her to keep her entertained for the time being, at the leather wearing boy. "Chat Noir?" She asked, her voice soft and barely above a whisper.

Chat stopped in his tracks, leaving the window half opened while holding it. He hadn't heard Marinette's voice in a while now, not like that at least. Not as Adrien. Closing the window all the way and turning around he gave her a small wave and walked over to her, holding a bouquet of beautiful red roses. "Hi Marinette, I never got to apologize for you getting hurt during that akuma attack, so I, uh, brought you these." Chat stumbled upon his words, causing Marinette to become a little confused.

Why would he be speaking so awkwardly? She thought to herself. "Thank you." After answering and asking Chat to set them down on the small table in the corner, him obliging and doing as told, she started to frown as she looked at him.

"Uh, something wrong Princess?" Chat asked, feeling worried as he used the nickname he gave her from so long ago. He remembered that mission, where she helped him and Ladybug, well more she had helped him seeing as Ladybug didn't show for a good while.

Evillustrator, yeah that was the name. It was Marinette and Adrien's classmate, Nathaniel. He was drawing Marinette and Chloe antagonized him for it. "Hm? Oh sorry. I was trying to see if my measurements were right." She mumbled as she looked back down at her sketch book and nodded.

"You have the same body shape and type as someone I know. It's strange that your measurements are the same, but then again I guess it's relieving, less work and trial and error." She states, sketching something down before frowning and erasing it quickly.

Chat released a breath he didn't even realize he was holding and walked over to her, sitting down on the edge of the bed slowly. He didn't want to disrupt Marinette or make her uncomfortable, but when she realized what Chat was doing she moved to the side, patting the spot beside her.

"Thanks Princess." He said, his eyes lighting up at her being so open towards him, even if she was hardly talking this was still a HUGE improvement to how she acted around Adrien. "Whatcha drawing?" He asked, peering over her shoulder. When he leaned in closer to her to look over her shoulder, she flinched and took in a deep breath before going back to how she was sitting.

"Sorry." Chat said, his ears going flat against his head. "No, it's fine," she said a few seconds later while she moved the book so that they could both see, "I was sketching up a jacket for yo- er, for someone who is employing me to make a jacket for them to give as a gift." Marinette quickly corrected herself.

She couldn't tell Chat it was for him because it was supposed to be a Christmas present from Ladybug. Especially since she probably wouldn't even be giving this to him, she didn't want to bother him on Christmas when it should be spent with his...loved ones.

"Really? Who is employing you to make it? If you don't mind me asking of course!" Sighing, she didn't even look up from her sketch book. "Ladybug. Ladybug is hiring me to make it." She said, a half truth touching her lips and leaving.

If Chat Noir didn't look interested before he certainly did now as a confused smile spread across his face. "Really? Who would she be gifting it to? Ah, I probably shouldn't ask that. She wants our identities to remain a secret. Besides it's rude to ask, I apologize." He says, ending his splurge of words with a solemn look.

"She said that she isn't going to give it to them anyway," Marinette says softly as she realizes a fault in the gift, "Said that if she gives it to them then she'll see them on the streets with it and know their identity." Marinette trails off as she stops sketching.
