It was around ten at night when Adrien decided to go and run around Paris a little bit. He knew that he had a photo shoot tomorrow, Kagami would be modeling with him much to the photographer's demise, but he was restless and something kept pulling at him to go and do a run around the City of Love. And boy was he glad that he did, for the events of that night would be forever engraved in his memory.

He was running on all fours, seconding whether or not it was a wise decision to head over to Marinette's house or not, not wanting to bother her by texting her, so he was just resisting time. It wasn't until he saw a familiar shape out of the corner of his eyes did he stop and rush over to his spotted friend. "Ladybug?" He asked worriedly, having to shake her a few times before she awoke. "Huh? Chat? What are you doing here?" She asked, looking around sleepily before jumping up and gripping st her hair.

"What time is it?" She yelled. "Hm? Oh, it's around ten. How long have you been out here?" He asked watching as she sighed with relief. "Not long. I left my house around nine thirty, I just thought that it was later than that. Good thing I didn't fall asleep earlier today. I would've been in a lot of trouble. Anyways I'm gonna go and head back home before anyone noticed I'm gone. Thanks for waking me up Chaton." She said hurriedly before zipping away on her yo-yo.

He knew that something was off with her, the way her head was tilted and her eyes were slanted. The way she didn't notice him the second he appeared. Maybe it was the fact that there were bags under her eyes that tears glistened over. Something was wrong and he wanted to know what it was. So naturally he started looking around where she was sitting. He didn't find much, it was the top of the Eiffel, usually a safe space for him and Ladybug to just sit and talk.

But there was one thing that caught his attention. It was a black and purple butterfly. And it was sitting there, waiting. It had been watching. Hawkmoth was waiting. Ladybug was in danger.

As soon as Chat saw the nasty akuma he quickly jumped down to the ground and rummaged through the trash, finding a paper cup and plastic lid, and then jumped back up to where the akuma was now going to follow in the direction of Ladybug's quick disappearance. "Oh no you don't you disgusting butterfly!" Chat says as he quickly uses the cup to catch the damned bug. He quickly breathed in a calming breath, trying to keep his fear of being turned to a small minimal.

He didn't know what he'd do with the stupid overgrown fly but he did know that he'd keep it far away from Ladybug. It was watching her and wanting to follow her, he'd have to keep an eye on it for the moment. When he left and made it successfully to his home he moved the akuma into a mason jar he had found in the kitchen. Perhaps he'd show Marinette tomorrow.

No, no that's a stupid idea, Adrien thought to himself. She might still be susceptible to Hawkmoth's power, he continued on. As Adrien pondered on what he should do Marinette was speaking with her kwami. "Why didn't you purify the akuma Marinette? It was right there. You know that it was watching you. You just kept speaking to it." Tikki said, her voice was small and worried. She was scared for her holder.

She Marinette was getting better but Tikki could see her heart, and the darkness that was radiating from it. If Marinette has touched the akuma she would have been akumatized. So why didn't the akuma fly to her and get its job done? "I know Tikki, but it's too early for that right now. If I had purified it then Hawkmoth would send another one. And another one. And another one. I can stand being followed by one but I know that I'll get over emotional if he keeps sending more.

"It's best to just not react to this one. As for the speaking, everyone deserves to be noticed, right?" Marinette finished and laid down on her bed, the blankets and sheets and pillows long since forgotten as she lays there in a spaghetti strapped tank top and short shorts. She didn't care if she was cold, she knew that she had to shut herself off from her emotions for a moment, just until Hawkmoth gave up on her.

She was shivering, her teeth chattering as she laid there, silent tears running down her cheeks at the thought of hurting her friends from being akumatized. She hated it. She hated the nightmare her sleeping mind threw at her. It wasn't until a pair of leather arms slipped through hers and wrapped around her did she finally calm down, her nightmare shifting into a dream.

Chat hadn't planned on going to visit Marinette that night but something was tugging at his heart to do so. He stayed there, all night long, holding her in his arms under the covers he had pulled over them. Even when he knew she had woken up he had stayed there holding onto her. He was glad that he did too seeing as how she rolled over and rested her head against his chest, tucking her head under his chin. "Thank you Kitty." She whispered tiredly before kissing his adam's apple and falling back asleep, unaware of how red her partner's face had gotten.

Boy was he glad he had found Ladybug on the Eiffel Tower that night.

A/N: Hello, sorry that this chapter is shorter and that the writing might feel rushed! I'm currently trying to speed up the story so that we won't need any filler chapters (which is what the last chapter and this one were originally meant to be lol) and we can just get right into the fluff, puuurhaps a sinful thought or two, and to the more heartbreaking parts! Also there won't be another chapter for the next few days because I have a big science test and history test coming up and my family's pit bull just ran away (;-;) so I won't have much time to write this story because of studying and looking for the dog! Have a nice day/night!
Buhbye~~;-;
