Marinette hadn't been made aware of her school taking a field trip to see her the very next day. Even though everyone was told they were there to visit Marinette and make her happy they couldn't help but feel as if the trip was to make them feel happy, well no, not happy. More along the lines of relieved. To relieve their mind of the horrible feeling of having this happen to their friend. Either way when everyone got their turn it was clear that none of those things were going to happen any time soon.
Marinette was alive but it seemed as if she was even more hollow than she was before the akuma attack. She answered only in nods and silence, refusing to do anything when Adrien went into the room accompanied with Mrs. Bustier. The teacher could feel the tension radiating through the air and decided to try to make conversation, only to end up being treated like the rest of the students.
It would've been an understatement to call it a devastating sight to behold. The entire bus ride back to the school Nino was hugging Alya. He could feel her tears leaking through his jacket and shirt as she sobbed into his shoulder. Adrien just stared at the seat in front of him in silence, his hand resting on the open seat beside him. He had been told that Marinette was being released tomorrow, that all of her friends were invited over to her house to say hello and eat sweats with them.
"Adrien. Adrien. Adrien! Dude, come on, we're back at school. Your ride is here." Nino said, offering a comforting smile and a pat on the shoulder. Adrien thanked him and walked off the bus, apologizing to the driver and his teacher. As he sat down in the car that delivered him everywhere he went he was still in another world of his own.
Marinette filling his every thought. It hadn't even seemed like a second had passed by when the car pulled into his driveway and his body guard, Gorilla as he and his friends like to call him, was opening the door for him. After a short thank you and asking Natalie what his schedule was for the rest of the day, finding out it was completely empty as was tomorrow's, he went to his bedroom and stared at his ceiling.
Plagg watched him with concern the entire time. He had never seen the boy so heartbroken. Plagg hated having to watch Adrien just sit there, waiting and hoping for the one he loved, even if he hadn't realized such a thing, to come back to him. Plagg hated it because he had to go through the very same thing.
There was no guarantee that he and Tikki would ever be needed again. Therefore there was no guarantee that he and Tikki would ever be reunited again. He hated thinking of Tikki being alone, trapped inside the box, them being so close to each other and yet so far. He could always sense when she was nearby and therefore he knew that she was the Marinette girl's kwami.
Once again Tikki was so close and yet so far. On many occasions he was tempted to go to Tikki and be reunited with her again, only to be stopped by a bell or another pesky akuma. He hated it more than he loved cheese. Maybe that was what made him decide to fly over to Adrien and sit on his chest, hugging his neck and telling the boy that he understood.
Plagg knew that the boy understood, to a very small extent, on what he was talking about, seeing as hot wet tears started flowing out of Adrien's eyes. "It's okay kid. I understand. I'm here." He said softly, staring at Adrien's wall sorrowfully. "Plagg? Can we go visit her? Tonight, when it's dark?" Adrien asked after a few minutes of talking.
Plagg didn't answer immediately. Slowly he said that Adrien could. Telling him that he would owe him more cheese, which seemed to lighten Adrien's mood.
When it came time for them to go and visit Marinette Adrien looked like he was about to go to a funeral. Plagg sighed as he flew up to the boy, saying "Hey kid, cheer up," softly. Adrien sighed and told him it was as easy as it seemed, causing Plagg to hug his neck and confirm that he knew. But before Adrien could loose anymore tears Plagg floated away a little bit so that he could see him.
He put his hand, or well his nub, on Adrien's nose and told him, a fierce look in his eyes, "No more crying. Would Ladybug like it if she saw you crying? Would Marinette like it if you cried? She may be angry with you, or whatever it is she's feeling towards you, but if there is any bit left of what she used to be still in her then I know hat she'd never want to see you cry!" He exclaimed and Adrien nodded, a small smile lighting up his face.
"You're right Plagg, come one. Let's go visit Princess. Plagg, transform me!" And with that Chat Noir was bounding across rooftops and streetlights, on his way to see a certain bluebell eyed girl.
A/N: This is a short chapter but that is because I'm going to take a few days to write the next chapter which will be a couple hundred words longer than this one. So here is a VERY small sneak peak:
"Princess, why are you crying?" "Because no one will cry for you."
That's it for this chapter, buhbye~
