10. Avenger...But Not An Adult

After a couple of hours, following Klaue's every move for the past few months, Andria got the location she needed.

Heading back to her room, she stopped by Steve's.

As she knocked on his door, he opened, coming face-to-face with her.

"Salvage Yard African Coast."
"So, he's on a ship?" He asked.
"Yeah. More like a ship graveyard, though."
"You have coordinates?"
"Here," she gave him a piece of paper, "there's also the name of the ship he's on."
"Good job. Take some rest. We'll leave at dawn."
"Okay. Night, Cap."
"Goodnight."

Getting back in her room, Andria came face-to-face with her aunt.

"Hey..."
"Hey? Really? That's all you have to say?"
"Look, I can explain."
"No! I know you didn't say anything. You just had to be yourself and impress them so much that they want you in their team!"
"I know you don't want me to go with them, but--"
"But, Andria. Do you know what's the difference between being an Avenger and a simple agent? It's that the Avengers risk their lives for the people all around the globe. Do you know how much more dangerous this is?"
"Yeah, I know. But, both of us also know that I can do this. We both know that this is what I've always dreamt of. What I trained so hard for. You gotta let me do this," Andria pled.

"Fine. But just because you're an Avenger now, that doesn't mean you're also an adult. You're still fourteen, so when they tell you to stand down, you stand down."
"Do you really think they will ask me to stand down?"
"No, but they won't blame you if you do."
"I know. But, honestly, when did I ever avoid a fight?"
"Never...And that's what scares me."
"I promise to be careful!"
"I know. Look, something came up and I have to go Upstate tonight. I'll be back, but you won't be here. So, this is goodbye for now," Maria said, pulling her niece into a hug, "Keep safe. I love you!"

"I know," Andria smiled as Maria let go of her and walked out of the room.

After Andria packed a backpack with some clothes and mostly daggers, knives, guns and electroshock batons, she laid on her bed and slowly fell asleep, thinking of what could possibly happen the next day.
