Kakuzu's p.o.v.
I entered the hideout again and went straight to Pein's office. I heard his monotone voice come through the door as I knocked. "You may enter." I opened the door to see him as always burying his nose in paperwork. "Leader, I came to report about Ikari. Though I suspect with Zetsu there you already know. Apologies for wasting your time." I turned to leave looking up to the ceiling where Zetsu was beginning to return back into the surface as Pein's voice caught my ear. "Remain for a moment Kakuzu. It is true that Zetsu already briefed me on what happened between Ikari and Kisame; however, I wished to speak to you about the matter." I looked back before internally sighing. I truly didn't feel like dealing with this more than I had to but obediently turned to await what he had to say.
He placed his papers down now turning his eyes to meet mine. Those damned rinnegan cut through me like a razor. "If this is something Ikari knows nothing of then we must try and figure this out. If she has untapped potential we must unlock it." I kept my eyes locked with his thinking about it for a moment. "How exactly do you propose we do that?" He stood and rounded his desk nearing me and giving me a file. I looked down at it and my eyes widened. "The seven-tailed jinchuriki, Fuu. She should prove strong enough to bring out this power in Ikari again. I want you and Hidan to take her along. The file has all we know of Fuu including her last location. Get it done, give us more to work with to understand this power or at least help her come to control it. That is your mission, dismissed." I sighed but nodded and left.
I growled after I left the room: this was dumb, I shouldn't be wasting my time with a runt who doesn't even know how to use her own strength. Hidan was easy to find, just lounging around on the couch. "Moron, we have a mission so get your ass up and let's go." He got up with a surprising lack of complaining as I marched down the hall to Ikari's room. I banged on the door as I heard her bolt up before opening the door enough to stick her head out. "Can I help you?" I shot my eyes down to hers in a glare but immediately moved them away. Why can't I keep eye contact with her damn it? "Get dressed. Leader has assigned you to go on a mission with Hidan and I. Hurry up." She shut the door without a word.
I waited outside of the hideout with Hidan who was already complaining. I'm going to find a way to kill him if it's the last thing I do. Ikari finally came out looking to Hidan and I. "So what's the mission?" I turned and began walking towards our destination. "We're going to find Fuu, the seven-tailed jinchuriki. We are to capture her and bring her back here." She became silent as we traveled along. It wasn't long though before Ikari caught up to me and matched my pace. I could feel her eyes looking up at me but I kept mine forward. "Something I can help you with?" She chuckled putting her hands behind her head. "Just curious about you. You took my fireball like it was nothing and then on top of it you had those weird creatures pop out of your back. What's your deal?"
I kept walking trying to ignore her but she kept pushing. I finally snapped, she was being more annoying than Hidan! "Hush! I have no care to explain anything about me! Especially to someone who doesn't even know why there's a fire wolf that can just take over their body! I have no time for runts, especially runts who can't control their own strength." She fell silent for a moment as I began walking slightly ahead of her only to be caught in the back of the head by her foot. I lurched forward slightly as I heard Hidan begin to laugh. I spun around to see her glaring right at me.
"I never asked you to be an asshole to me either! I asked a simple question that you could have simply said you wouldn't answer! I have no clue what happened against Kisame but don't you think I'm trying to figure that out? You don't have to be a jerk about it. And you can shut up Hidan!" I turned back around with a grunt. Why could I not argue more with her? Damn, what is going on with me. It's like her eyes place the tips of knives against my hearts. Hidan began arguing with her as we walked through the forest. I just have to keep my mind focused in the objective and I'll forget about this. My hearts must be getting old, I might need to replace them soon.
