Ikari's p.o.v.

I took a deep breath as I closed Kakuzu's door behind me. Akuno was going to pay damn it. I sucked my teeth as I turned and went into my room. My kunai, tanto, puppet and shuriken would be more than enough to prolong Akuno's death. Happy with my arsenal, I left my room and went out towards the exit. The stone rolled away from the entrance of the hideout. A voice stopped me as I stepped outside into the clear and sunny day. "If you're going after whoever did that to Kakuzu I'm coming too," My eyes scanned around before they landed on Hidan who was leaned against a nearby tree with his scythe next to him. He looked up to me with a smirk. "I'm the only one who gets to beat the hell out of the old man. That fucks going to be my next sacrifice to Jashin," A cruel smile crept across my face at Hidan's words. He was the perfect person to help with this. "Oh I'd be more than glad to let you in on this." There was a moment that the two of us seemed to click on some level. Both of us wanted in this moment the same thing: put Akuno in as much pain as possible before killing him.

I proceeded down the path with Hidan following behind me. "So why do you care so much if Kakuzu got hurt by Akuno?" Hidan looked over, resting his scythe onto his shoulder. "I've never seen Kakuzu so banged up. Because of Akuno I have no one to give me money for food. No one to spar with, its boring with Kakuzu out of commission. And well, he is a good partner all things considered. Even if he is blasphemous. What about you?" Hidan's eyes studied me as I looked down to the ground, gritting my teeth. "That bastard Akuno killed my parents and now he hurt Kakuzu. I don't want any of you hurt, he crossed that line," A shit-eating grin spread over Hidan's face as he raised a brow. "Oh so now the mighty Ikari is attached to us?" I shot a slight glare over to Hidan. "As a matter of fact I am. I do actually care about all of you, though you are lower on that list," Hidan scoffed and shook his head. "Whatever, you wanna care about a bunch of sick mother fuckers be my guest," I rolled my eyes at Hidan as we continued on.

Hidan and I continued on our way for the first day with no issue. By the second day, Hidan was back to annoying me. "Come on we need to stop for food or I'll starve to death!" I growled as we walked before shooting a glare back at him. "You can survive being stabbed, you'll live," Hidan caught up to me and protested. "Hey Lord Jashin granted me immortality but I can still die from malnutrition! I need food!" I sighed as I looked at our surroundings. "There should be a town maybe an hour away, I'll get us food there," Hidan pumped his fist in the air with victory as I shook my head. Idiot. As we continued on our path what Hidan said prompted me to curiosity. "So wait you can die from not eating?" Hidan looked over and nodded his head. "I mean there are a few things that can technically kill me but starvation is the big one. I mean if someone smashed my head into pieces or if I got burned to ash then well...not much I can survive with but typically its just starvation. However, Jashin is always granting me new strength so maybe one day I can survive that," My eyes rolled once more at the last part. Jashin seemed to be just a big fairytale people made up but hey, if it gave Hidan something to believe in then sure I guess.

The Land of Fire's border was near as we stopped in a small town to eat. I treated us to ramen which Hidan helped himself to greatly. "Thanks Ikari. Kakuzu never feeds me like that," Looking into my depleted coin purse I could understand why. "Yeah...no problem Hidan. Anyway, let's rest here for tonight and tomorrow we can reach the Hidden Waterfall and get Akuno," Hidan gave no objection as we found an inn and I rented two rooms for us where we both promptly crashed. That was the last of my money sadly. I pinched my forehead as I let out a sigh. Maybe this is why Kakuzu is so stingy with money, Hidan sure can go through it quickly. "His stomach sure is big as his mouth. At least feeding him seems to be a way to shut him up," I chuckled, Fukushu was right at the very least it got Hidan to stop talking about how boring walking was or how much he hated the heat and the other thousand complaints Hidan found throughout the day. For an immortal man he really does let a lot of small things bother him.
