Jimin did not answer the first time Yoongi texted him. Nor the second. Nor the third. Nor ever. He always read all the sweet messages Yoongi, asking about Jimin's day and speaking of his own, but Jimin never answered. He read and laughed with the small texts he received at random times of the day, wondering at the end of the day why Yoongi was still trying.

He wanted to ask Yoongi about the boy that turned into a squirrel every time he got startled, or about the woman with hair of snakes that had requested for a tattoo on one of her snake hairs, or about the couple wind manipulators that turned the studio upside down.

Yet he never did. Both Hoseok and Jeongguk advised him not to. And Jimin knew they were right so he never answered, never dared to. He feared what might happen if he did. The text he received that morning did not help with his worries either.

Min Yoongi

we r meeting again today, pretty boy

Jimin anxiously put his phone in his pocket and fastened his walk to catch up with Hoseok. The street  was crowded and it was hard walking in between all the people without separating from each other but they really could not let themselves be late, not now.

It was almost Jeongguk's birthday. His Metanoia was going to be performed in less than half an hour, on midnight, the moment his birthday began as the tradition went, and Hoseok and Jimin still had no present to congratulate him with. The sun has long set, but the street was still well lid up. Neon signs, street lamps and fairy lights were illuminating the long main street, creating different figures in the shadows while also painting people's faces in different shades of any color of the rainbow. His mother would have killed him for being out so late was it not for the fact that she was going to attend Jeongguk's Metanoia as well.

Jimin and Hoseok both had to be thankful to Yugyeom who had agreed to receive their present from the courier on their behalf so that they would not be late. The boy was waiting for them next to a candy shop with two colorfully wrapped boxes. The blue one was Jimin and Hoseok's while the yellow one had to be his own. His black hair was nicely arranged probably because of the special occasion though Jimin could not know that. It was his first time meeting the boy.

"I can already hear the music from hear. Old man Doyoon must be excited about the first Metanoia of the season," Yugyeom said as soon as he noticed them. "I bet that if it was not for following the Lord's words, he would have started by now." He mocked and Jimin could not help but let out a giggle.

"It was the same with mine and it was the middle of the month. I doubt being the first matters to him." Hoseok laughed.

"Maybe he just likes his job?" Jimin suggested and the other two males laughed in return.

"Could be," Yugyeom said, still laughing. "I mean, who wouldn't like touching people's chests, excusing themselves with it being just work!"

Now that they were closer and walking down the street towards the church where Jeongguk's Metanoia was going to take place, Jimin noticed something black around Yugyeom's throat. It was countless rose stems circling his neck, their thorns as deadly as beautiful; there was only one rose flower, not red, but white as snow, stalking up his throat and blooming right under his right ear. It was a really beautiful tattoo.

"Have you two heard the rumors?" Yugyeom said as quietly as he could in the middle of the crowd so that he could be heard. When neither Jimin nor Hoseok answered he took it as his cue to continue talking. "I heard from BamBam who heard it from Hyuna who heard it from Hwasa who heard it from Yeji who heard it from Hyunjin who heard it from Taehyung that the Seafoxes will try to steal Jeongguk first."
