Jimin could only watch in horror as people were running away, screaming and searching for their friends and family. He could feel his mother tugging onto his sleeve and calling his name. However, he could not move. All he could think about was the fact that Jeongguk was completely closed off everyone else by the fire around him. The flames seemed to be rising higher and higher; Jimin could not even see Jeongguk's face anymore.
"Jimin!" Hoseok and Yugyeom were running towards him, faces as worried as his own.
"Hoseok's keeping a barrier around Jeongguk so that the flames don't hurt him," Yugyeom said fast. "We don't know for how long he can keep it though. I knew this was going to happen." He shook his head.
"Mrs. Park, please leave while you still can. We will take care of things here." Hoseok smiled politely. A knife was thrown in his direction, but it was met by an invisible barrier and fell to the ground.
"But Jimin-" Her eyes were wide and looking frantically around. She could not protect herself with a weak Levitation ability that barely held scissors into the air. "No! I'm not leaving my baby here! No! He can't protect himself! He's powerless!"
Jimin clicked his tongue. And just whose fault do you think that is?
If he had his ability he could have put out the fire in the matter of a few seconds, but no – just as his mother said, he was powerless.
"Just go!" Yugyeom shouted and after flinching his mother left, completely forgetting her words about how powerless Jimin was.
He sighed in relief.
"Minho is here. I can feel him hitting my barriers all over the place." Hoseok gritted his teeth. "I don't know for how long I can hold him and Yoongi."
"Yoongi is involved!?" Jimin gasped. He had to realize this earlier the moment the elder had disappeared.
"Who do you think can make flames so high, dammit!?" Yugyeom frowned. "I already tried to freeze them but it just would not work. They are too strong."
"That's the moment where some water or air manipulation would have been of some help," Hoseok said. Then he screamed, falling to his knees.
"Hyung!" Jimin knelt next to Hoseok and held his shoulders. "What happened!?"
Hoseok clicked his tongue. "Minho broke my barrier."
Yugyeom screamed and slightly swayed to the right. "Motherfucker," he cursed. His right hand was holding his left bicep. It was bleeding. They were in the middle of a crossfire between the church guards and the Seafoxes. Hoseok's defense around them had fallen so it was to be expected.
"Don't get in our way Hoseok." It was the boy Jimin had seen in the tattoo studio the other day. Back then his silver head was lying on top of another boy's leg, looking completely at peace and even nice. Now his face was all scrunched up in an angry grimace. In his hand there was a black gun, red running down on it; the man had to be hurt somewhere. His body was covered in tattoos, the symbolic fox tatted right onto his bare bicep. Above his head were floating all types of weapons - swords, pistols, knives, sabres and others that Jimin did not know the name of. His eyes were glowing in metallic silver, a sign he was using his ability.
"Lee fucking Minho." Hoseok released a breathy laugh. "Touch that boy and I swear to God, I will kill you."
A knife flew close to Hoseok, the tip pressing against his throat. Jimin gasped as he noticed the blood drops slide across the blade.
"You are supposed to be on our side." Minho smirked. "Yoongi will go mad if he realizes you were getting in the way. He probably won't mind even if I cut you a little." The blade pressed harder.
