I saw some cute ducks. There were 7 and very cute.
"Aphid my sons missing, your daughters missing. Is this some coincidence?" Maple asked.
I shook my head.
"I think they'll come back." I said.
"How can you be so calm about this!" Maple yelled, "I sware to the moons and back if something happens to Evergreen I'll use our most powerful leaf speakers to cover your house in dragon traps."
I laughed.
"I know. He probably went looking for Honeydew. He's been so worried about her."
Queen Maple rested her head on her claw and sighed.
"Yes. You're right." Maple agreed.
We heard a scream coming from some miles away.
We both looked at each other and started to fly towards it.
Our quest lead us to Queen Rarity's egg room.
Sunspot was in there holding the queens egg. Rarity was in defensive mode and was trying to reason with the Silkwing Hivewing hybrid.
"I want no more inter tribe relationships. Only Hivewings and Hivewings. Silkwings and Silkwings. And Leafwings and Leafwings." She growled.
"Sunspot. What are you doing!" I yelled.
"I'm glad you're here aunt Aphid. I was going to wait for one of the assassins to come back but they seem to be taking forever. Well your lovely Honeydew is dead. She should be anyway. With Camomile and Toxic after her she should be dead in no time." Sunspot hissed.
"But why kill your cousin. You love her." I cried.
"Mother was supposed to be queen. She was going to challenge grandmother before she got sick. Mother told me the perfect way to get our revenge. She sent a letter to the Nightwing Queen saying there was going to be a war between the two tribes if they didn't send dragons right away they would be at fault for Queen Spiders poisoning." Sunspot hissed, "naturally she saw an opportunity. A young Nightwing. I didn't know he was going to become Honeydew's father but we hoped you would run away to Pyrrhia to be with him."
"Sunspot. You're mother had no problem with me becoming queen. I know she died before you hatched but there is no way you could have known she did this. I mean it doesn't make sense." I said.
She hissed and applied pressure to the egg shell.
"No please." Rarity cried.
"Sunspot what point are you trying to get to. Do you want to be queen. And you think making up this story will get you that title. And I believe Honeydew is still alive. She's stronger than you think." I growled.
"Yeah. And what would you accomplish with all three of us to stop you. I have a very strong lead speak." Maple growled.
Sunspot tossed the egg in between her claws and Rarity winced.
"I know what your son did to my Silkwing. He was expendable." Sunspot huffed.
I growled.
"You kidnapped her!" I roared.
"Well I didn't get my claws dirty. I had my Silkwings do it. And there were also supposed to kill her. Never let a Silkwing do a Hivewings job. I now understand why Queen Wasp basically inslaved the Silkwings." She laughed.
"Now where was I. Oh yes getting rid of the last heir to claim the last thrown."
Sunspot almost cracked the egg when a blast of something golden appeared and burned her causing her to drop the egg. Another less brighter golden silk was sprayed on the ground and the egg fell softly on if. I looked across the room and saw a beat up Silkwing with glowing wrists.
"Athens!" She screamed clutching her face.
Athens grabbed the egg and handed to Rarity.
"Here." He said, "get out of here. She's awfully brutal."
Rarity took her egg and ran out of the room.
"Beetle! Mayfly! Orchid! Arrest them!" Sunspot yelled.
I grabbed the flamesilk and ran with him. Maple stayed and wrapped the vines around the enemy. She ran up with me.
"It's not going to hold like the sundew my son used on Mantis. We need to keep moving." She said.
I nodded and Athens nodded.
He laid out some flamesilk as we ran. Not to burn anything because we built out of stone after the whole incident. But it might have burned down some of the plants that were growing at the roof.
I looked up to see the plant. The sundew started to grow down trying to catch its prey.
"That's me. Just run through. It'll catch anyone else who runs through!" Maple yelled.
I nodded and continued running. I trusted Maple so I ran right into it. None of the vines tangled me up or Athens.
We ran outside and started flying. We caught up to Rarity. She was by one of the docks looking out at the ocean.
"I'm waiting on that boat." She said pointing out at the ocean.
I saw something very faintly.
"That won't be here until the morning." I said.
"Then we'll hide." Athens suggested.
"But we can't leave our kingdoms." Maple said.
"She's probably got all the Silkwings. And some of the Silkwings are married to the Hivewings or Leafwings. And if they're married the spouse will drag the other in with them. Then they'll tell their friends it's cool and there queens didn't fight for them. Then they'll join Sunspot. But they'll all join her whether they want to or not." Athens explained.
"What happened with you?" Rarity asked putting her wing around Athens.
"She said she was taking me to see my mother. She's sick. She said she was getting better and wondering were I was. I followed her and she lied. My mother was. She was nowhere. She lied and chained me up. Forced me to give her my flamesilk. Then she complained that I wasn't giving her enough or she wanted me to produce more. It all lead to scratches and bruises." He said "but I do have an idea. How about one of us stays up and watches for enemies. While the others sleep and when they get tired they wake another up to take there place like guards do."
We all nodded.
"I'll take first watch. I'll probably stay up all night anyway. I have a lot of energy." He said.
We all lied down and went to sleep.
