I was walking on the beach. It was a lovely day and I thought man wouldn't it be lovely to walk on the beach today. So I did.
There were a bunch of merchants at the docks today so I decided to see what one was selling.
"Ah Nova. See anything you like." The Seawing asked.
His name was scallop and he had the cheapest prices in all of Pyrrhia.
"Oh do you have silk today Scallop?" I asked.
He tapped his snout.
"Give me a sec okay sweetheart." Scallop said going into his boat.
I heard him gasp and call for me.
I ran down and saw a Hivewing struggling around trying to get out of her binds.
"Scallop How did she get here!?" I asked.
He shrugged.
"We'll before I left I caught three Silkwings lurking around my boat so I guess they put her here." Scallop said.
I cut the silk binds off of her and she then tackled me. I think I know why she did it but I still kinda wasn't sure.
"You're on Pyrrhia. Uh I'm Nova and that's Scallop. We went to school with each other. He's a nice guy. He wouldn't have kidnapped you." I explained.
"I wasn't saying he kidnapped me. Where are those Silkwings. They said they'd steal a boat." She hissed.
"Hey no need to be hostile. I scared them off." Scallop said.
"Nova? Take me to Nightshade." She demanded.
"Wait. I'm not taking you to my father until you tell me who you are." I said trying to sound assertive.
"Fine I'm Honeydew. Princess Honeydew of Hivewings." I could tell she was scared. She was trying to sound royal and fancy but that wasn't her. She was the shy independent girl. As a mind reader I can tell a dragons personally.
"Hey. You don't have to be tough. I know you're just a big teddy bear under all that stubbornness. I'm a mind reader." I explained.
She got off me and looked at her claws.
I could have paralyzed her. What was I thinking. Maybe I should just fly far far away. Maybe I should just go live in the poison jungle.
"Hey stop thinking like that. It was a simple mistake. You won't do it again. Unless you're insane." I joked.
She looked frightened.
"Sunspot." She whispered, "you have to take me back to Pantala. Please."
"Sorry Honeydew I only make that trip once every three months. Maybe you could jump on one of those mail ships. I'm sure they'd take you home." Scallop said.
"Thanks anyway Scallop. Sea you next semester." I laughed.
He shook his head in disappointment and went right to the next customer.
"So you are looking for Nightshade right. Well you'll have to get through my mother first." I explained.
She didn't get my joke.
"I was joking. My mother's nice. Don't be so fidgety." I said nudging her.
I wish Evergreen was here.
"Oooooooooh who's Evergreen?" I asked.
She looked at me.
"Mind reader remember."
"Well it's not very nice to do that."
"Listen I can't control who's mind I listen to. It just happens. Like my brothers visions."
She nodded.
We walked back to my house and my brother came bursting out.
"Nova!!! A Hivewing is here! On Pyrrhia! Oh nevermind." Fastfuture exclaimed.
I laughed.
"They should call you slow future." I giggled.
"Shut up. I don't look into the future that often. I just let the visions come to me okay." He growled.
I heard Honeydew giggling.
"What's so funny." Fastfuture growled.
Honeydew backed away and hid behind me.
So I was right. I thought.
"Hey don't mess with her. She can paralyze you, you know." I growled back.
"Well I don't see her doing anything in the near future. She's very predictable." Fastfuture growled.
"Don't mind the grip at the door. You can call him slow future. Or monkey brains." I snorted.
Honeydew smiled.
We walked inside avoiding any other conflict with my brother.
And there was my mother. Narrowing his eyes at me and growling.
"What did you drag home this time Nova."
