When The Ocean Calls

Chapter 2

"Oh, it's just the neighbor next door. They live here." Joe says responding to me. We all head down to the dock see the beautiful view of the ocean. The waves almost seem in rhythm with our breathing. It really is that relaxing. I decide to go at the end of the dock to watch the water better. Both Olive and Joe decide to go inside since it got chilly but it's to pretty outside to go in. I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air. "Hey." A person says behind me. I jump out of my skin and look behind me and see the boy on the dock earlier more clearly. He had black hair and blue piercing eyes that you could fall in to. "Oh hello." I say as I stand up. "I'm Erik. You?"
"Emily." I say back
He was wearing jeans and a plain black shirt. He had Vans on and  was tall. "I was just told by my sister to introduce myself since you I'm not  here very often. If you look in our kitchen window you'll probably see her making sure I'm actually talking to you right now." I look over in the window and notice a similar looking girl who was beautiful with curly black hair. "If I were you" he continues "I would just smile and nod so I dont have to talk to you again." I guess I understand but why does he have to be so rude? "Oh ok." I put on my best fake smile and nod gently. "Ok well, bye." He walks away and I can't help but feel hurt by his words. I know I shouldn't considering that I just want to have fun with my girls and not get into a conflict with the neighbor. I walk in to the house and Joe and Olive were on the couch with pretzels watching some cheesy romantic comedy. I decide to fill out my calender of what I want to do through out this week. What I'll probably do is write what I want to do at the beginning of the week so that I am prepared for every day. I go downstairs and decide to watch that ridiculous movie even though you can already figure out the ending! After that we all decide to drive around the area and figure out what we can do the rest of the day. We chose to walk around the mall and find cute outfits and I bought more books. As we were walking out of  the stores getting ready to leave I was fidgeting with the loose string on my purse when it felt like I hit a wall. I look up and notice a familiar rude face."Would you watch where you're going next time? " This was my breaking point. Two incidents where he was being rude to me. "Do you have a problem with me? I'm sorry that I ran into you and I'm sorry that you dont want to have a normal conversation with someone but really?" I continue half yelling at him "Whatever, why do I even bother with you. Let's get out of here girls." Olive and Joe looked stunned at me with when I practically dragged them away from him. As I kept walking I heard laughter from behind.
