When The Ocean Calls

Chapter 8

  Driving home Joe kept looking toward me making sure that i'm not upset in any way. "Do you mind if we stop to eat?" I ask looking out the window. "Sure. Where do you want to eat?" She asks turning up the radio "I don't really care." I say listening to the familiar song. We pull into a McDonald's getting out of the car I think about what I want to order. We sit down and start to eat. "So do you want to talk about it?" Joe asks. I called Joe for this exact reason. While Olive would bust into the cafe and beat him up while Joe would just listen. "Yeah." I say. By the time I was done we both at most of our stuff with remaining fries. "It seems that he likes you and got jealous when you mentioned Andrew." I groaned as she said this. "But that can't be it since he doesn't like me!" I whispered screamed. She gave me a look. "I saw the look he gave you after you yelled at him the other day." I rolled my eyes at her. "He didn't give me a look and I have a boyfriend if you didn't already know!" She laughed at me and I threw one of my fries at her. "Well it just seems that you guys got in an argument and that you should just wait for it to blow over." She says eating one of my fries. "He complimented me." I mumbled. Her eyes lit up "He WHAT!!!" Her smile was glowing "Shh! The whole place can hear you!

"They should! And I thought you had a boyfriend?" She smiled at me.

"I do and he's coming next week!" I told her as she continued to eat. "OK. What do you  want to do tomorrow?" I thought for a second. "I don't know. I'll probably just go by the day." She gave me a confused look. She began "What? The Emily I know already had her schedule memorized and in time, spot on! I think this Erik is really rubbing off on you." I gave her a look. "Shut up!" We left and drove back to the house and noticed a certain car in the driveway. I gave Joe a concerned look as we both remember Olive. "Oh no." I say and rush in the door to Erik on the couch and Olive on the recliner across from him. She was giving him the death stare and I noticed he was holding a bouquet of flowers. "What are you doing here?" I ask him and then look at Olive who had her arms crossed.  She stood up and looked towards me. "Are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah i'm fine. What are you guys doing?"  I ask looking between Olive and Erik back to Olive. "Well I heard what this jerk did to you and I decided to take matters in to my own  own hands. He came here to apologize to you and then I learned the story." I then turned to him and said " Well you're forgiven so you can leave now." I look away from him still annoyed. "Uhm.. maybe we should let them talk for a second." Joe says looking at Olive. Processing what Joe says Olive finally caught on. Giving Erik one last glare she walked with Joe upstairs. Finally getting to talk I sat down in front of him.
