When The Ocean Calls

Chapter 7

  'Toy Story' starts to play and I immediately feel happier. "You didn't! How did you even now this was my favorite movie?" I asked turning towards him. "Well I just went on Google and typed in favorite Pixar movies and picked my favorite." We both then turned towards the screen. I began to think how cliche this was. In the middle of the movie he moved closer and whispered to me. "You look really pretty today." Before I could respond he turned to the other side of his seat. I'm positive my face was bright red. Once the movie was over we went to a cafe and discussed sports that we both did. Of course I said swimming and surprisingly he said running. My phone buzzed and it was Andrew. I didn't really want to answer but of course I responded. He sent me a dog GIF saying that he was going to come up next week and that I shouldn't miss him to much. I smiled at this and Erik noticed. "Is that your boyfriend?" He says as I tuck my phone away. "Uhm yeah he says he's coming up next week." I say taking a sip of my iced coffee. "Uhm..." I say "I'm gonna go pay for this since you paid for the movies." I stood up "Ok." He says taking out his phone. "Hi." I say. The girl in the front was taller than me and was blonde with green eyes. "Hello, your total is $9.36." She says with a smile "Ok." I say and give her the money. "Hey and is that your boyfriend over there?" She says looking over my shoulder to him and I followed her gaze. "Uhm no, he's just a friend." I say confused "Well do you mind telling him that he's cute for me? Thanks! Have a great day!" I looked at her shocked and confused at what just happened. I go back to Erik sitting down in front of him. "Uhm... the girl in the front thinks your cute." I say as he looks up. "Oh ok." He says casually looking back down. "Your not going to respond to her?" He looks back up and says "No I dont have to because it happens all the time." I'm mean I dont doubt it considering that he is handsome. But on the other hand it seemed like she likes him at least he can say thanks. "Well shouldn't you at least thank her for giving you a compliment?" I say utterly confused. "Why are you so invested in this? She didn't compliment you so why do you care?" I stood up and looked at him straight in the eye very aggravated "Because people who are nice to you you be nice to back but obviously you don't care because your just a jerk who I'm sad I put any attention in to." I say storming out of the cafe. I called Joe and asked her for a ride home.
