Chapter 29: CHRISTMAS!!!!

Ashlynn's P.O.V

~Christmas Day~

"Hey! Ashlynn!" Ember yelled as a pillow impacted my head.

"What?" I held up my arm as she kept hitting it.

"It's Christmas! Dumbass. Get your butt up."

"Nooooo." I wined.

"Fine." She said as the pillow fell from her hands. She grabbed my hand and literally dragged me out of bed. My butt hit the ground.

I looked up. "Why did you do that?"

"I needed to do something to get you up." Wow. Ember. Just wow.

"Fine." I got up and walked down the stairs. My hair was probably a mess. I jumped onto the couch.

"Ashlynn get up!"

"But it's comfy," I said with my face facedown into the couch.

"I know. Just get up."

I sigh and get up.

"Ashlynn. Ashlynn. Ashlynn. Ashlynn." she mumbled under her breath as she stacked my presents. "Here." She says pushing my presents towards the couch where I was sitting. She grabbed hers and started ripping it open. She was an only child so she didn't have to wait. Her parents? Well, they don't really care when she opens them.

The first one I opened was from Ember. it was in a small velvet necklace box with a silky light blue bow tied around it. I unravelled it. It was a necklace (of course) that said Besties.

"Ember is there another half?"

"Oh yeah." She starts laughing. "I knew you would say that." She ran back upstairs. She came back down with a similar one. "I have the other half." She tosses it to me. Hers says Forever.

I put them together. Besties Forever. "Thanks, Ember I love it," I said tossing the other half back to her.

"Your welcome." Ember was already munching on the chocolates I got her.

"Really? You're not going to share?"

She shakes her head. "My chocolates." She said hiding them behind her back.

Jeez, sometimes this girl can go crazy.

I open the next one but read the card first. Dear Ashlynn, I thought you might like this since you love Zombie movies. -Max, your friendly neighbourhood Slender Man ;). The Spiderman theme song. Really Max? Really?

I took the tissue paper off and pulled out a book. Warm bodies were written across the cover. I smile. I love that movie and I never got to read the book though.

The next present was from my Aunt. Hey Ashlynn, I heard of you and your father. I'm sorry. If you need me give me a shout. -Aunt Nichole. P.S I got this in New York. I in wrapped the present. 100$ and an 'I love NY' Tank top. I smiled and folded it back up and put it aside.

The last one was a small box with a card taped to it labelled Ashlynn. I opened the card and a 50$ iTunes card fell out. Ashlynn, We're sorry for what we did we regret everything. We hope you will come home soon. Love, Mom and Dad. Pfft like I'm coming home anytime soon and isn't dad in jail? I opened the box. An iPhone 6. Dang.

I started to set it up.

"Hey." I swung my head around to find Max. "Awe. That's not fair all I got is an iPhone 4." Max wined holding his iPhone up.

"Well. Haha." I laugh.

"All you got me was dumb deodorant." He says plopping down on the couch beside me and crossing his arms. "Do I really smell that bad?" He said smelling his armpit.

I make a 'you are crazy' face.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm not crazy." He laughs.

"Ahh!" Ember squeals.

We both look at Ember. Who is screaming her face off.

"What?" Max and I say at the same time.

"I just got 5 Seconds of Summer tickets!"

"Oh my gosh. When?"

"August  25th."

"How many tickets."

"Two."

"You're coming with me." She laughs.

"What seats?"

She looks down at the ticket and her mouth drops. "Front row."

"Eek." My smile reached to my ears.

"Can I come?" Max said.

"Only if you want to see three guys dancing around in tight pants." I laugh and Max shakes his head. "Just joking. There's four but ones just drumming and they don't wear tight pants." I said. "Sometimes," I add getting up from the couch.

"Well, I'm going to take a shower. Be right back."

Embers P.O.V

Why did she leave me alone with Max. It's very awkward.

"So..Whats new?" Max says with an awkward smile.

I laugh. "Nothing." I slouch back into the couch. After that, we just sat there in an awkward silence until Ashlynn came out.

"Hey, guys I'm back." Ashlynn laughed while brushing her damp hair. Yes, Ashlynn takes fast showers.

"Thank god," I mumble. Not that I don't like Max it's just that we are just so awkward. Why was he here anyway? Why isn't he spending time with his family?

"Well, I should get going," Max said getting up from the couch and kissing Ashlynn goodbye. "See you later alligator."

"In a while crocodile."Ashlynn smiles.

"You guys are a cute couple. I find it hard to find guys like that." I say.

"Yeah." She says grabbing her iPhone 6.

"No using up our Internet." I laugh smacking her in the arm.

"No worries. I'm just downloading things and you guys should really get unlimited." Ashlynn laughs.

"I wish. They can afford front row seats to a 5 Seconds of Summer concert but they can't afford unlimited Internet?"

"We're leaving soon to college anyway," Ashlynn says putting a hand on my shoulder. "I hope." I heard her mumble.

"Yeah but aren't you not going to see Max for a- you know couple years or so?"

"Yeah and you with James."

"Don't remind me." Ashlynn takes her hand off my shoulder.
