Chapter 24: Slender Man, Jason (again) and phones

Max's P.O.V

"So I'm stuck as the slender man... forever?"

"Yep." The man said popping the 'p'.

"I can't... please." I begged.

"Nope." He says and walks out of the bathroom.

I growl in frustration. I cant risk people seeing me so I teleported away to the lake with the waterfall.

Ashlynn's P.O.V

Where the hell is Max? I ask myself. It's been like half an hour! How long does it take a guy to go to the bathroom?

I ran up to the man who just walked out. "Excuse me?" I ask him.

"Yeah?"

"Is the a guy in there? Dirty blonde hair about 6 foot a little taller and deep blue eyes?"

"No sorry."

*After prom*

After calling him for the billionth time. He's never actually answered his phone before. I headed out looking for him. Where would he be? I remember him telling me where he was when we got in a fight. Where he stayed for like three weeks. He's at the waterfall. Where else would he be? I sprinted in the direction of the waterfall. I before I knew it I was on the ground. Someone had tripped me.

"What do you want from me?"

"Everything."

"Jason." I growled. I crawled backwards.

"I'm never going to hurt you Ashlynn. And when I betrayed you. That was a mistake. I didn't want to die. I didn't want to betray you. Ashlynn." He said almost in tears. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me."

"Forgiveness needs to be earned after what you did."

"Max lied."

"About what?"

"Loving you."

"Your just trying to break us up."

"No I'm not!" He says in frustration. "I have always been there for you. Ashlynn. Not him. You seriously just met him."

"Come to think of yes I did just meet him like it feels like a year. And you shot him and his sister. I can't trust you."

"I never have killed anyone have I?"

"No not that I know of- how am I supposed to know?"

"I was protecting you Ashlynn!" He yells. "And has max killed anyone?"

"Well... yes but he said he was forced to!" I said still sitting in the middle of the road.

"He couldn't have lied?"

"He would never have lied to me. How would you know anything? Jason?"

"His phone." He reaches into his pocket and takes out a phone and tosses it to me.

"Is this Max's?"

"Yep."

"How do you have his phone?"

"I found it on the bathroom floor, now read his text messages."

"Why?"

"Just do it."

"No."

He mumbled some thing that I couldn't make out, took the phone and I guess he scrolled through the text messages. "It says... where did it go... oh wait there it is." He laughed-it was hard not to. "it says...never mind"
