• Ivy's POV •
I go back slowly moping to sit in the waiting room, blood stains smeared across my cotton, dark brown sweater. The sleeve is pulled up to my shaky thumb, as I bite it nervously. My eyes glisten mostly from crying all night, as I stare a head to the floor in front of me. I slowly walk over to a chair and sit down in between two other people. I turn, sitting down in the blue hospital chair spacing off as I gulp. I hug my arms to my chest, and rest my chin on my knuckles, still staring off into the distance only thinking about what was going to happen. The woman and son next to me, look at me worriedly. The boy keeps trying to grab the chair arm rest to come over to comfort me. The man next to me, old and scraggly looking stares straight ahead avoiding the awkward situation at hand. The large waiting room is filled with lots of soft talking, that lulls me to sleep. I was so tired. My eyes began to close, heavy from tonight's series of unfortunate events. Finally, everything goes black.

Caspian?! I wake up suddenly with a heavy intake of breath, sitting up straight, wiggling in my chair while my eyes adjust to the sudden brightness. The hospital room filled with glorious light. I look to my left, then to my right. Everyone around me was gone except a few people across the room, who weren't there last night. I looked up to the clock, realizing it was 12:00 in the morning. My stomach growled when I realize I haven't eaten sense breakfast yesterday morning. I see a full vending machine to my right, against the wall. I walk up to it lazily, I look like a bear coming out of hibernation. My hairs a mess, I rub my eyes removing the crust from their corners, and finally reach the vending machine, slapping my hand down on its glass for balance. I don't have any money, do I? I reach down, scrambling in search of a pocket full of change, when I realize I'm wearing yoga pants, and there isn't any pockets, and there isn't any change.
"Crap," I sigh, bowing my head down, as my arms holds the machine for support. I hear a women's soft voice behind me, call me name."Ivy?" She questions at almost a whisper, slight shock I'm her voice. I turn to see a woman with orange hair.
"May?" I ask realizing it was Caspian's mother. She comes over to me, holding me in a tight bear hug, holding my head in her hand.
"Uh—" she lets out a gasp of relief while her lips smack together. "You look very haggard." She pulls away from the hug, with her hands on both of my shoulders. "Not that you aren't still the beautiful little girl I remember, your eye has just definitely seen better days. This is just an awful thing to have happen, especially right before the wedding."
I give her a sad smile.
"How did you know I was here with Caspian?" I ask confused."Well after Caspian said, he had to go I knew something was wrong. He said it so nervously. Then when he left, I heard a bunch of screaming—then a gunshot. Then the line started cutting out. I went to your house- and saw everything that had happened. I called the cops, and they arrived and asked me a few questions. They asked what I knew, and what happened. I told them I wasn't sure but that you guys do have security footage all around the house, so they could look at the cameras. Then they eventually let me go, so I came here. I asked the lady at the front desk if Caspian or you were here and she explained what she knew, Then pointed me to you sitting in the waiting room."
"I-I can't imagine what you must be feeling right now—"
"Well," May sighed, "trust me, I wasn't keeping everything together very well at all, until this morning."
